North Melbourne v Western Bulldogs tips, prediction & odds analysis; AFL Rd 3 preview

Welcome to our North Melbourne v Western Bulldogs tips, prediction and odds analysis for their Good Friday clash at Marvel Stadium.

The Roos v Bulldogs betting could barely be any more one-sided for this contest, the Bulldogs priced at $1.06 to win, while the Roos are paying $9.50 to cause a boilover.

While the odds are probably not a true reflection of the teams’ chances in this game, it’s hard to envisage the Roos winning, after losing their opening two games by a combined 109 points.

Thursday night AFL: Collingwood v Brisbane tips
Thursday night NRL: Sea Eagles v Panthers

The Bulldogs have won both their games so far in 2021, with strong wins over premiership chances Collingwood and West Coast, with their good players on song.

North Melbourne have suffered several injury blows already this year, with key defender Robbie Tarrant expected to miss a large chunk of football, while Luke McDonald and Ben Cunnington are still another week away.

The Bulldogs will be without Hayden Crozier, Ed Richards and Toby McLean with the trio all at least a month away from resuming. No.1 pick Jamarra Ugle-Hagan is listed as a test, but will not be rushed into the senior line-up despite strong form at the lower level.

Kangaroos v Bulldogs tips

The Kangaroos v Bulldogs betting is all one way traffic, but our AFL betting expert has found some value tips:

Naughton to kick 4+goals

Western Bulldogs star Aaron Naughton is yet to fill up his boots this season and a clash against North Melbourne could be just the game to kickstart him. Naughton won’t have to contend with Tarrant this time and we can see him spending time closer to goals against this backline in a game the Dogs should win easily.

Western Bulldogs to cover the -44.5 line

The Bulldogs are one of the buzz teams of 2021 and they should easily account for Roos in this contest, with their opponent rebuilding and having injuries. While the line of -44.5 looks daunting, the Roos have struggled to score and are missing several first-choice midfielders. Put the Bulldogs to cover the line in your AFL multibets with confidence.

Western Bulldogs v North Melbourne prediction 2/4

The Bulldogs look to have the clear class edge over the Roos all over the field and we just can’t see a way the underdog wins this game. The Bulldogs midfield is being superbly led by Marcus Bontempelli, while the inclusion of former Magpie Adam Treloar has given them another weapon. While it’s probably too early to be making brash predictions, the Bulldogs look to have the arsenal to seriously challenge for the 2021 Premiership. Our final Western Bulldogs v North Melbourne prediction: Bulldogs by 52 points.
