NRL round 12 odds update and fixture

NRL round 6, 2021: Dragons v Warriors

Round 12 of the 2020 NRL season kicks off on Thursday, July 30, with a crucial clash between 11th-placed St George Illawarra and 10th-placed South Sydney.

The losers of this Dragons-Rabbitohs clash are really going to struggle to force their way back into the top eight in this truncated 20-round season.

The action continues right up until Sunday, August 2, when Melbourne Storm and Newcastle close out the round at Sunshine Coast Stadiu,

The Knights are counting the cost of their round-11 loss to the Bulldogs. Not only has the loss put them out of touch with the top four but they lost experienced rake Andrew McCullough (hamstring) and quality back-up Connor Watson (Achilles) for the rest of the season.

The match of the round is arguably the Manly-Penrith match on Saturday night from Lottoland. The Sea Eagles are clinging to eighth spot and have injury concerns heading into the match against the high-flying Panthers.

Both St George Illawarra and Cronulla come out of their thrilling derby, won by the Sharks, with several wounded players including Sharks halfback Chad Townsend (calf) and centre Jesse Ramien (hamstring), and Dragons halfback Adam Clune and forward Trent Merrin, who both suffered concussion.

NRL 2020 premiership betting update

In the latest 2020 NRL premiership market from Unibet, the Melbourne Storm continue to close in on favouritism, moving in from $5.25 to $4.50 to be behind only the Sydney Roosters.

Surprisingly the Roosters retain the top spot, despite the top three teams Penrith, Melbourne and Parramatta being a couple of wins clear of the two-time defending premiers.

Bookies have all but put a line through the Knights’ chances of landing the 2020 title after their injury disaster, shifting them out from $19 to $26.

The hapless Brisbane Broncos were $151 out to $351 after another thrashing, which is shocking when you consider they were talked up as genuine contenders at the start of the season.

There is a clear top four with a gap to the rest, with the Canberra Raiders producing a couple of fighting wins to keep their hopes flickering.
