NRL Round 13 odds, schedule and times

Roosters captain Boyd Cordner suffered another head knock.

NRL Round 13 will start on Thursday night and finish on Sunday afternoon. Our NRL betting expert has examined the odds in our usual Monday column highlighting what rugby league action is on for the week ahead.

Round 13 of the NRL season will kick off with a clash between the 11th-placed Dragons ($4.50) and the fourth-placed Roosters ($1.20) at Win Stadium, Wollongong, on Thursday night.

The Dragons have been plagued by rumors of player unrest, as their topsy-turvy form has them almost put into the too-hard basket for punters. Coach Paul McGregor desperately needs a victory to keep the wolves at bay, with his odds of continuing into 2021 decreasing with each loss.

The Roosters will be celebrating the 300th game of club stalwart Mitch Aubusson, while they are excited for the potential debut of Sonny Bill Williams in the coming weeks. SBW is currently serving quarantine before joining the premiers as they attempt to win a third consecutive title.

On Friday, the Sea Eagles ($1.20) will go into their clash against the Warriors ($4.50) as favourites, despite their thrashing at the hands of top-of-the-table Penrith on Saturday night.

The second game on Friday night will see odd-on favourite South Sydney ($1.30) clash with the struggling Broncos ($3.50). The Rabbitohs desperately need a win or risk slipping outside of the top eight.

On Saturday, second-placed Melbourne Storm ($1.13) are at Winx-like odds to defeat Canterbury Bulldogs ($6), after their impressive 25-16 dismissal of the Newcastle Knights

The second game on Saturday will see the Knights ($1.65) clash with Wests Tigers ($2.25), with the latter desperately needing a victory to stay in touch with the top eight, something that is even more important in this 20-round truncated season.

On Saturday night, top-placed Penrith ($1.52) will play fifth-placed Canberra ($2.55), after the Raiders’ narrow 14-12 victory over the Cowboys last round.

The first of Sunday’s games pits the Gold Coast Titans ($2.10) against the North Queensland Cowboys ($1.74), with the two Queensland teams poised to fight out a close contest.

Round 13 finishes with the Cronulla Sharks ($3.10) hosting the Parramatta Eels ($1.37), which is sixth v third and shaping as potentially the match of the round.

The Sharks produced three tries in eight minutes to escape 36-26 against the Broncos, a victory that came without Josh Dugan, Jesse Ramien, Chad Townsend, Matt Moylan and Andrew Fifita.

Ramien and Dugan are expected to return from their hamstring injuries, while Moylan is “also a chance to play” which has us thinking the NRL round-13 odds for this clash are off the mark.

NRL Premiership odds prior to Round 13

Title favourite the Roosters have eased slightly in NRL Premiership betting, after being as short as $3.45 with some betting sites.

This can probably be put down to an injury to star back-line player Brett Morris, who is expected to miss at least a month with a fractured lower back.

There is also some uncertainty around captain Boyd Cordner’s concussion, with the Roosters not putting a solid date on his return.

Punters are deserting Manly, who have blown out from $15 to $23, after the loss to the Panthers. You can almost put a line through Wests Tigers, who have gone from $51 to $151.
