NRL Friday: Rabbitohs v Broncos, predictions & odds, round 13, 2020

Brisbane Broncos v Parramatta Eeels tips, predictions, best bets, NRL ROund 3 betting

Welcome to our South Sydney v Brisbane Broncos NRL betting preview and free tips article for their clash at ANZ Stadium, Sydney, on Friday, August 7.

This is a fascinating contest for no other reason than that these two clubs switched coaches and there is real ill feeling between them.

And even more interest has been added to the clash with Souths coach Wayne Bennett breaching COVID-19 protocols this week and being forced to spend two weeks away from his players. Match-day duties will fall to his deputy Jason Demetriou for the match and the next one against the Cowboys.

We selected this as the match of the day over the earlier clash on Friday between Manly-Warringah and NZ Warriors at 6pm from Lottoland.

Anthony Seibold’s injury-plagued Broncos have been in dire form since the NRL restart, and now they have lost high-priced playmaker Anthony Milford.

On the positive side, they regain half Brody Croft, tough forward David Fifita and possibly front-rower Matt Lodge. But they need all the help they can get after losing nine of their past 10 matches.

The Rabbitohs head into the clash with the same 17 who beat St George Illawarra 34-24 last weekend. They named Adam Reynolds despite the halfback suffering a shoulder injury against the Dragons.

Rabbitohs v Broncos free betting tips

Below our NRL betting expert has highlighted his free tips for the Souths-Brisbane clash.

Broncos +10.5 points/match total over 38.5 points

The Broncos’ attack started to gel a little better last week and even though they have lost Milford, we expect that to continue, with some of the younger players starting to show more flare. Souths have never had a question mark over their ability to score points so expect a free-scoring affair.

Cameron Murray to score a try anytime

Souths’ rangy back-rower leaves nothing in the tank and we love watch him smash into the defence. In what we expect to be a willing affair we can see him crashing over from close range. He’s due.

South Sydney Rabbitohs v Brisbane Broncos prediction

The Broncos were much improved for 70 minutes last weekend against the Sharks before collapsing to concede three late tries. The return of David Fifita will help toughen up the defence, but their finals hopes are long gone and they are now just playing for pride. On the other hand, the Bunnies are still in the finals mix and only last season they were in a preliminary final. Bennett won’t want to let this one slip against his old boys, though we expect this to be fairly close with the Rabbits pack also lacking a little punch. Our final Souths-Brisbane Broncos tip: the Rabbitohs by four points.
