ZARbet.co.za review
ZARbet is a relatively new South African online bookmaker and casino, offering sports betting and a sizeable range of casino games through a single account. The site is operated by Apollo Gaming (Pty) Ltd and is licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board under bookmaker licence 10010581-031, first issued in March 2024. This makes ZARbet a locally licensed option for South African players rather than an offshore gambling site.
The ZARbet casino covers slots, table games, poker-style games and live dealer titles, with filters for jackpots, free spins and other game features. Its game catalogue includes content from major international developers such as Pragmatic Play and Evolution, alongside ZARbet’s own range of ZAR Originals. The operator is also particularly active with casino promotions, running deposit bonuses, free spins, tournaments, leaderboards and other short-term offers.
Sports betting is the other major part of ZARbet, allowing customers to use the same account for casino games and sports wagers. The sportsbook covers the major sports South African punters would expect, while ZARbet also runs sports-specific promotions alongside its casino offers.
Banking is well suited to the South African market. ZARbet supports card payments, EFT and eWallet-style payments, while its current promotional material also lists options including Visa, Mastercard, Capitec Pay, OTT and Flash vouchers, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. The minimum withdrawal is R250, and players should note that verification can be required before withdrawals are processed. ZARbet’s terms also state that deposits normally need to be wagered at least once to avoid a withdrawal fee.
Overall, ZARbet combines the features of a modern South African sportsbook and online casino with local licensing, rand-based play and locally relevant payment methods. There is also live chat, telephone and email customer support, plus responsible gambling tools including deposit limits and self-exclusion.
ZARbet Casino review

ZARbet has put together a surprisingly broad casino lobby, with a good mix of slots, traditional table games, poker variants and live dealer games. The casino can be filtered by categories including Slots, Poker and Tables, while players can also narrow games by features such as jackpots, free spins, Max Ways, single-zero roulette and live dealer.
Slots make up a substantial part of the offering, ranging from fairly traditional games through to modern feature-heavy releases. ZARbet specifically names Pragmatic Play and Evolution among the major developers available on the site, while it also has its own ZAR Originals/Signature content and exclusive Genii games. New titles appear regularly, so the catalogue isn’t simply a collection of older games that has been left untouched.
The table-game selection is particularly impressive. As the screenshots show, there are RNG versions of blackjack, roulette and poker alongside a sizeable live casino. Players can choose from games such as European and American Roulette, First Person Roulette, Lightning Roulette, Speed Roulette, blackjack, baccarat and craps. There are also higher-limit live tables, including Salon Privé Blackjack and Roulette, which gives bigger-staking players something beyond the standard low-limit tables.
Evolution is clearly a major part of the live casino. ZARbet has a dedicated Evolution section and explicitly promotes both the developer’s live dealer games and RNG titles. The presence of games such as Lightning Roulette and Evolution’s First Person titles is another indication of how heavily the casino leans on the supplier.
There is plenty here for most types of casino player. Slot players get a large and frequently updated selection, while anyone who prefers traditional casino games has both RNG and live dealer alternatives. ZARbet also runs regular casino promotions, tournaments, jackpots and free-spin offers around its games, rather than treating the casino as an add-on to its sportsbook.

ZARbet sports betting review

ZARbet has a comprehensive sportsbook, although our first impression wasn’t particularly good. During testing, the sports betting section was unresponsive in Safari and simply wouldn’t load properly. Switching to Chrome fixed the problem and, once running properly, the platform was considerably better. This is worth mentioning because some South African bookmakers can already feel a little clunky without adding browser and loading issues into the equation.
Once you have used the ZARbet sportsbook for a while, however, it does have its perks. The layout packs plenty onto the screen, with live and pre-match betting separated clearly and shortcuts for boosted odds, upcoming matches, popular matches and competitions. There is also a favourites feature, while the betslip remains visible alongside the markets on desktop.
The depth of betting is one of ZARbet’s stronger points. Football naturally dominates, but there is also extensive coverage of tennis, cricket, basketball, rugby union, rugby league, ice hockey, baseball, golf, volleyball, handball, table tennis and Formula 1. Esports is also a big part of the ZARbet offering rather than an afterthought, while the Special Bets section branches into novelty markets including politics and major entertainment events such as the Oscars.
Individual events can have an impressive number of markets. When we tested the site, a single NBA match had more than 80 betting options available. Football can go considerably deeper again: the sportsbook showed 400-plus markets for some international fixtures, covering everything from the match result and totals through to handicaps, player markets, corners and cards.
ZARbet is also good for outright betting. Cricket punters, for example, can bet on the winner of major competitions rather than being restricted to individual matches, including outright markets on South Africa’s domestic T20 competition. Similar futures and tournament-winner markets are available across a range of other sports.
Another feature we like is the regular use of boosted odds. At the time of our review, ZARbet was offering boosted prices around upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures, with boosted selections clearly marked in the sportsbook. The operator also regularly runs promotions and bonuses around major sporting events. That’s consistent with the wider ZARbet promotions strategy, with its site maintaining dedicated sports offers alongside its casino promotions.
Overall, the sportsbook itself is much better than our initial Safari experience suggested. The loading and browser issues are a genuine criticism, and we’d like to see ZARbet make the platform more consistent across browsers. But in Chrome, once we got accustomed to the fairly busy interface, there was plenty to like: a large range of sports, deep individual match markets, outright betting, esports and novelty markets, boosted odds and regular promotions.
ZARBet Rand deposit options
ZARbet offers a solid range of payment methods aimed squarely at South African players, with everything from conventional bank cards and EFT through to mobile payments and prepaid vouchers. Deposits can be made in rand, and ZARbet says it generally absorbs its own transaction fees on deposits, although customers can still be charged fees by their bank or payment provider.
The cashier supports Visa and Mastercard alongside Capitec Pay, making it straightforward for players who prefer regular banking methods. Apple Pay and Samsung Pay provide mobile alternatives, while voucher users are also well catered for. ZARbet’s responsible gambling information additionally references 1Voucher, Kazang/EasyPay, OTT and BluVoucher.
Withdrawals have a minimum of R250 and ZARbet can only make payments to South African bank accounts. Players may also be asked to complete identity verification before a withdrawal is approved. Importantly, deposits must normally be wagered at least once before withdrawal; otherwise ZARbet’s terms allow it to apply a fee of at least 10% where permitted.
ZARbet payment options include:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- Capitec Pay
- Capitec cards
- EFT
- Direct bank deposit
- Apple Pay
- Samsung Pay
- 1Voucher
- Kazang Voucher / EasyPay
- OTT Voucher
- BluVoucher
- Flash Voucher

ZARbet Review Conclusion
Overall, our assessment of ZARbet is positive. The South African bookmaker has put together an appealing platform that combines sports betting and online casino gaming, making it a good option for players who enjoy having both products available under one account.
ZARbet offers a solid selection of betting markets, casino games and promotions, backed by a locally licensed operation. The website is straightforward to navigate, and the combination of sports and casino products gives it plenty of appeal.
There are, however, some areas where we would like to see improvements. In particular, the wagering requirements attached to certain bonuses could be explained more clearly, making it easier for players to understand exactly what is required before accepting an offer.
While ZARbet is a good all-round option, players interested exclusively in sports betting may find better South African betting sites elsewhere, particularly when it comes to market depth, odds and specialist betting features.
