ACR Super Series attracts huge prize pool

ACR Poker’s flagship Online Super Series XL (OSS XL) has generated more than $22.3 million in prize pools during its opening week, as the online poker festival builds toward its biggest tournaments of the schedule.

The series, which runs until March 23, features over $50 million in total guarantees and tournaments for players of all bankroll levels, with buy-ins starting from as little as $0.55.

Attention is now turning to the headline Main Events, with three on the schedule, having began over the weekend and carry a combined $5 million in guaranteed prize pools.

But for ACR Pro and WSOP Main Event winner Chris Moneymaker it is all about the bigger events taking place over the coming days.

“The OSS XL has already seen huge participation in the opening week, but Main Events are where the biggest moments happen,” he said.

“With $5 million guaranteed in three tourneys starting this weekend, these events are always among the most exciting in the series.”

Three major tournaments will anchor the schedule, including two $2 million guaranteed Main Events with buy-ins of $2,650 and $1,050, along with a $215 buy-in event guaranteeing $1 million. The first Day 1 flight got underway on Sunday, with additional flights and a Day 2 finale set for later in the series.

Among the early highlights of the festival was the first guaranteed edition of Phil’s Thrill XXL, which exceeded its $1.5 million guarantee to generate a $2.06 million prize pool from 206 entries. The event was won by online player “ErculePokero,” who collected $460,027 for the victory.

As of Sunday’s early results, the Main Events themselves have not yet reached the decisive stages, with more information set to be available on Monday after the completion of some flights.
