NRL Round 1 odds, title update and schedule 2022; Panthers without Nathan Cleary
NRL Round 1 starts on Thursday, March 10, with a massive clash between defending premiers…
The AFL fixture is almost finalised for round 21 with Australian bookmakers releasing odds for Friday and Saturday games on Monday afternoon.
With the AFL world in a state of constant flux because of the pandemic, teams are not having their fixtures released until the days before their matches are scheduled.
Round 21 will begin on Friday night with a quality clash between Geelong ($1.13) and GWS ($6.05), with the Cats’ top four chances and GWS’s finals hopes obvious considerations here. The Giants lost to the Power on Sunday, while the Cats were professional in accounting for the Roos by 20 points.

Carlton can continue its push for an unlikely finals birth when they host Gold Coast at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Blues will be buoyed by their 32-point victory over St Kilda and the successful return from injury of forward Charlie Curnow.
Richmond ($1.41 with Unibet) will host North Melbourne ($2.93) at the MCG, in a clash they must win to be any chance of reaching the finals, following their last-gasp loss to Fremantle. The Roos are no pushover and have improved a lot under David Noble in the second half of the season.
Adelaide ($6.05) will enter the derby against the Power ($1.13) at the longest odds we have seen in a clash between the old rivals. The Crows have been competitive but are contending for the wooden spoon, while Port are at the top-end of the ladder and should have little trouble winning.
St Kilda ($3.08) will attempt to breathe life into their flagging season against Sydney ($1.39) in what looms as their last chance at making the finals. Lose this and the Saints’ season of great expectation won’t be extending into the finals.
Hawthorn ($1.90) will host Collingwood ($1.94) at the University of Tasmania on Sunday, in what is the Magpies’ first match in the Apple Isle. Remarkably the Hawks are favourites following their upset of Brisbane on Sunday, with outgoing coach Alastair Clarkson showing he is still at the top of his game.
A Sunday blockbuster between Western Bulldogs ($1.28) and Essendon ($3.73) at Marvel Stadium looms as match of the round. The Bulldogs are the flag favourites and will start this game expected to win, despite the Bombers pushing Sydney to within seven points in their last outing.
Fremantle ($2.53) will continue their push towards an unlikely finals spot when they host Brisbane ($1.52) at Optus Stadium. The Dockers almost certainly ended the Tigers’ finals chances with the return of their spearhead Matt Taberner proving to be decisive.
AFL round 21 will finish with a massive encounter between West Coast ($2.99) and Melbourne ($1.40) at Optus Stadium. The seventh-placed Eagles were thumped by an impressive Collingwood and if they don’t lift against the top four-bound Demons this might get ugly.
