Geelong’s Bailey Smith backed heavily to win 2025 Brownlow Medal
Outspoken Geelong star Bailey Smith might be talking the talk, but he’s also walking the walk, with the former Bulldogs midfielder moving into outright second position in Brownlow Medal betting.
The Cats hard-running midfielder is now $9 to win the Brownlow Medal, behind Collingwood’s Nick Daicos, who remains steady at around $3.75 with PlayUp Australia.
Adelaide Crows captain Jordan Dawson is outright third at $10, while GWS ace Tom Green and Essendon skipper Zach Merrett are both $13.
Smith has undoubtedly been the recruit of the AFL season, with his on-field performance, being matched by a heavy dose of entertainment off it, after flipping the “double bird” at a Crows fan and being involved in an funny war of words with Marcus Bontempelli, the captain of his former club.
But it has been Smith’s onfield impact that has been meteoric, and he will almost certain get Brownlow votes for his 35 possession match against GWS on Sunday, despite the Cats losing by four points. Smith Also laid 10 tackles and had 149 AFL Fantasy Points.
