Data shows Floridians love lottery and scratch games
The Florida Lottery and long-time partner Scientific Games shattered records in 2025, delivering $7.093 billion in Scratch-Off game retail sales — surpassing the previous $7.091 billion high set in 2022.
The banner year drove over $1.21 billion to Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, supporting public schools, colleges, universities, and Bright Futures Scholarships.
“We are extremely proud of our partnership with Scientific Games,” Florida Lottery Acting Secretary Reginald D. Dixon said.
“Our work together continues to achieve high performance for our Scratch-Off games by using data analytics to inform our game portfolio planning and logistics.
“More than breaking a record, our efforts drove higher contribution to education for Florida’s public schools, colleges and universities, as well as the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.”

Scratch-Off games accounted for nearly 74% of the Lottery’s total $9.63 billion in annual sales, reflecting a 6.84% year-over-year increase fuelled by data-driven portfolio planning under Scientific Games’ Enhanced Partnership program.
Winners claimed more than $5.23 billion in prizes, while retailers earned $425 million in commissions. Top-selling games included the GOLD RUSH MULTIPLIER series, generating $1.29 billion alone.
Scientific Games has been Florida’s primary Scratch-Off provider since 1988, with operations supporting over 13,550 retailers statewide. The Florida Lottery now ranks among the world’s top five in per-capita for scratch game sales.
“Scientific Games has served as the exclusive or primary supplier of Florida Lottery Scratch-Off games since the Lottery’s inception in 1988,” Scientific Games Senior VP Instant Products for the Americas Agela Goodwin said.
“In 1997, our relationship expanded to a full instant game partnership anchored by the Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership program.
”We have collaborated closely with the Florida Lottery’s team to drive responsible growth with Scratch-Off games, and our longtime partnership has proven to be highly successful.”
Part of the continued growth for Scientific Games in lotteries in the US has been the launch of Scratch Connect, which connects physical scratch cards to a digital game.
