Dutch gambling regulator warns betting operators about early payout feature
The Dutch Gaming Authority (Kansspelautoriteit) has contacted a number of licensed online sports betting providers after identifying shortcomings in how the “early payout” feature was presented to customers.
The Ksa found that several operators failed to clearly communicate that early payout is not available for draw bets, creating the potential for player confusion.
Early payout allows bettors to settle wagers as winners when their selected team establishes a two-goal lead during a match, regardless of the final result. However, the feature cannot apply to draw selections, as no team holds a lead in that scenario.

According to the Ksa, some providers promoted lower odds for draws alongside early payout messaging, while only clarifying the restriction within detailed terms and conditions. The authority determined this did not meet the obligation to provide clear, understandable information about betting outcomes and conditions.
Dutch betting sites offering early payouts have since been contacted and have updated their communication to better explain the feature’s limitations, particularly regarding draw wagers.
“The providers’ terms and conditions state that early payouts are not possible for draws, but this isn’t always clearly communicated when placing the bet,” a KSA spokespersons aid.
“This creates confusion among players, who may assume that early payouts also apply to draws.”
The Kansspelautoriteit runs one of the tightest regulation regimes in world gambling, with some operators having complained in the past about the less-than-friendly business conditions.
