NZ v Pakistan betting tips

Welcome to our New Zealand v Pakistan betting tips for their Super Eight clash at the T20 World Cup in Colombo on Saturday.

The Kiwis are a narrow favourite to win the clash at 1.61, while Pakistan has plenty of money behind them, priced at 2.30.

New Zealand qualified second out of Group D with one loss, behind the unbeaten South Africans, after defeating Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates and Canada.

Pakistan suffered just the one loss in Group A, with this coming to arch rival India, amidst their wins over the USA, Netherlands and Namibia.

The Pakistanis secured the final Super Eight spot with their victory over Namibia, which was highlighted by Sahibzada Farhan’s maiden T20 international century. Farhan has been a breakout star at the tournament with 220 runs to top the run-scorers.

New Zealand has been forced to make a change to their squad following the injury to Michael Bracewell, with off-spinning all-rounder Cole McConchie earning a call-up.

New Zealand v Pakistan betting tips

Our cricket betting expert has cast their eye over the markets and found some value New Zealand v Pakistan betting tips:

Rachin Ravindra to top score for New Zealand

Ravindra has been a class act for the Kiwis since entering the international setup a few years ago, and despite a quiet period pre-T20 World Cup, has shone in India and Sri Lanka. He will be among the favourites to top the Kiwis batting in this clash, but has the class to handle the Pakis tough spinners in sub-continent conditions. He is paying a juicy 6.00 to top-score with Kiwi betting sites.

Shadab Khan to top-score for Pakistan

Khan was rock solid against Namibia, while Farhan smacked them around the park, and while the latter is tempting to back for most runs again, we’re gonna back the Kiwis in to take a few early wickets. This leads us to Khan for most runs at 17.00, which is offering some nice value. Don’t load up too big on this one, because Khan is no guarantee to get in early. But we like the odds.

Usman Tariq most wickets

Tariq has taken the most wickets at the T20 World Cup, and will be short in this market in this clash, but we’re confident he will top the wickets. If he doesn’t the Kiwis have defended him, and he will have done his job. He is paying 4.00 to take the most wickets.

NZ v PAK prediction

Both of these teams have done what is expected of them at the T20 World Cup, and have genuine claims to push deeper into this tournament. The Kiwis as always are very competitive and outstanding in the field, and look to have a budding superstar Ravindra in their line-up. They do lack a bit of a depth and can struggle in the spinning conditions which is making us lean towards the Pakis in this one.

Pakistan appear to be a galvanised outfit at this tournament and are fielding better than they have in the past, with the entire team buying in. As long as their flakey top-order doesn’t fall apart, we’ll back them to get the job done here. Our final NZ v Pakistan prediction? Pakistan to win.
