Polymarket and La Liga North America strike deal

Polymarket is expanding its footprint in mainstream sport after securing a multi-year partnership with LaLiga North America, giving fans in the United States and Canada a new way to engage with Spanish football through prediction markets.

The deal sees Polymarket named the official and exclusive prediction market partner of LaLiga in the region, allowing users to trade on outcomes tied to matches, players and season narratives in real time.

For North American punters, the partnership signals a continued shift toward alternative wagering-style products that blend opinion, data and market-based pricing.

Relevent, the US-baesd sports and media company, in conjunction with La Liga founded La Liga North America in 2018 with the Spanish football enjoying continued growth in the lucrative market ever since.

“Soccer’s growth, especially in North America, is spearheaded by young, diverse and multicultural audiences who consume the game across multiple screens, so it’s our goal to continue to engage these demographics in new and unique ways,” Relevent CEO & Partner Boris Gartner said.

“It’s imperative we go beyond traditional engagement efforts in order to bring these audiences closer to the beautiful game than ever before, and we couldn’t think of a better partner than Polymarket to achieve that.”

The agreement forms part of LaLiga’s broader push to grow its presence across North America, targeting younger and more digitally engaged audiences. Through the partnership, Polymarket will be integrated across broadcast, digital and social channels, alongside fan-focused activations including VIP matchday experiences and virtual meet-and-greets with league legends.

Polymarket will also gain rights to use LALIGA and club intellectual property in connection with matches, further embedding its offering within the league’s ecosystem.

Both parties said they will work to develop a transparent and responsible framework around prediction markets, with a focus on maintaining sporting integrity. This will include the use of Polymarket’s integrity platform developed in collaboration with Palantir Technologies and TWG AI.

“Our goal is to give fans a more expressive way to follow the game, where opinions on players, matches, and season outcomes can be reflected in real time,” Founder and CEO of Polymarket Shayne Coplan said.

“Partnering with LALIGA brings that level of interaction to one of the most passionate global fanbases and introduces a new, more dynamic way for North American audiences to engage with the league.”

The LALIGA deal adds to Polymarket’s growing list of sports partnerships, which already includes agreements with MLB, NHL, UFC and MLS, underlining its push to position prediction markets alongside traditional betting products.
