Pragmatic Play announce deal with Cactus Gaming in Brazil

Pragmatic Play has expanded its partnership with Cactus Gaming, integrating its Smart Studio solution across the platform provider’s network as competition ramps up in Brazil’s regulated online gambling market.

The rollout enables Cactus Gaming to offer fully customised live casino environments, with Smart Studio delivering flexible branding, layouts and user interface control. The solution supports localised versions of core titles such as online blackjack, roulette and baccarat, enhancing player engagement across its operator network.

ARRISE, which provides the technology and grunt that powers Pragmatic Play, spokesperson and VP of Latin America Victor Arias said the partnership with Cactus Gaming was an important milestone with their push into Brazil.

“The Smart Studio solution continues to see strong uptake across Latin America, thanks to the flexible environments and full customization it provides to operators,” he said.

“We’re delighted to see Pragmatic Play’s Smart Studio solution now live with Cactus Performance BR’s live casino offering across the Brazilian regulated market, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen an already close partnership.”

Cactus Gaming is a Brazil-focused B2B provider powering several prominent brands, including Bet7K, Mr. Jack Bet and other regional online casino and sportsbook platforms. The company supplies turnkey technology, payments infrastructure and content aggregation to operators targeting Brazil.

“Pragmatic Play’s products have supported our growth in Brazil, enabling us to carve a strong market position,” Cactus Gaming CEO Thiago Garrides said.

“Now that Smart Studio is live, we’re confident it will allow us to further develop our casino portfolio and offer the best possible experiences to our customers.”

Brazil moved to regulate fixed-odds betting in 2023, with a full licensing regime rolling out through 2024 and into 2025. The framework is designed to formalise a previously grey market and generate tax revenue.

However, offshore online casinos and betting sites continue to pose a significant challenge, with regulators stepping up enforcement and compliance measures to drive players toward licensed platforms as demand for regulated content accelerates.
