The World Series of Poker has officially unveiled the 10 poker legends nominated for potential induction into the prestigious Poker Hall of Fame class of 2025, with popular commentator Nick Schulman and high-stakes ace Scott Seiver among them.

Kathy Liebert, regarded as one of the greatest female poker players, has also been nominated in what would be a very popular inclusion as she attempts to follow in the footsteps of Barbara Enright, Linda Johnson and Jennifer Harman.

Only one nominee will earn a place among poker’s immortals, with the final decision made by the living Hall of Fame members via secret ballot.

The 2025 finalists include a mix of iconic players, industry pioneers, and long-time ambassadors of the game:

  • Jeremy Ausmus – A five-time WSOP bracelet winner known for his consistency and deep runs across multiple poker formats.
  • “Miami” John Cernuto – Holds the record for most tournament cashes in history, with a career spanning over four decades.
  • Ted Forrest – A six-time WSOP bracelet winner recognized for his high-stakes prowess and fearless playing style.
  • Phil Galfond (40 years old) – Renowned for his dominance in online high-stakes cash poker games and his creation of Run It Once Poker.
  • Kathy Liebert – One of the most accomplished women in poker history, with over $6 million in tournament earnings and a WSOP bracelet.
  • Mike Matusow – A four-time WSOP bracelet winner celebrated for his colorful personality and deep runs on poker’s biggest stages.
  • Matt Savage – A trailblazing tournament director credited with modernizing poker rules and co-founding the Tournament Directors Association.

  • Scott Seiver (40 years old) – A seven-time WSOP bracelet winner respected for his sharp intellect and success in both tournaments and cash games. Seiver remarkably won three bracelets in 2024, making him the first player to do so. He was also named player of the year.

The 2025 inductee will be officially announced ahead of WSOP Event #92: the $1,979 Poker Hall of Fame Bounty No-Limit Hold’em, set to take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. In a unique twist, all living Poker Hall of Famers are invited to compete in the event for free, with bounty prizes awarded to players who eliminate them — each bounty reflecting the Hall of Famer’s year of induction.

Following tradition, the new inductee’s photograph will be permanently displayed in the WSOP Hall of Fame Poker Room at Horseshoe Las Vegas, honoring their contribution to the game.

WSOP is the biggest real money poker events in the world with satellites running on GGPoker, which is one of the top poker sites globally.
