WSOP app launches new free-play blackjack title
World Series of Poker’s official free-to-play mobile game has expanded its offering with the launch of a new blackjack mode, broadening gameplay options for millions of players worldwide.
The title, developed by Playtika, introduced the free-to-play blackjack feature on March 11 across web, iOS and Android platforms, adding another casino classic to a platform already built around poker formats such as Texas Hold’em, Omaha and daily tournament play.
“Blackjack is one of the most recognised casino games globally and we’re excited to bring it to our players as another way to enjoy the WSOP experience,” , General Manager of WSOP Guy Ceder said.
“We’re always looking for ways to expand the entertainment value of the game and respond to what our players want to see in the app.
“With Poker Power Jackpot as the main side bet and the introduction of Sofia as the dealer, this mode combines traditional blackjack with elements of poker, offering players a fresh and high-engagement experience.”
The new mode includes Poker Power Jackpot, a side bet that blends elements of poker with blackjack. The feature pays out based on a three-card poker hand formed from the player’s first two cards and the dealer’s upcard, incorporating traditional poker rankings into the blackjack format.
Players will also encounter Sofia, a newly introduced in-game blackjack dealer designed to guide gameplay within the mode.
According to Playtika, the addition reflects growing player demand for expanded gameplay variety within the app, which is recognised as the world’s top-grossing free-to-play poker game across the Apple App Store and Google Play over the past year.
