UFC betting introduction
The Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) makes for some of the most gruelling, entertaining and toughest viewing of all sports. It is the largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company in the world and competitors utilise fighting disciplines which include (but are not limited to) Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Karate and Judo.
UFC right across the world is massive and is one sports that did not taken a massive hit from the covid-19 pandemic. UFC boss Dana White copped some heat early in the pandemic for vowing that the UFC show must go on. The UFC eventually created a concept called “Fight Island” and we had non-stop UFC ever since.
While the UFC had become something of a rolling sideshow, with events everywhere from Las Vegas to Melbourne to London, as it visited over 30 different countries. It has also continued to pick up fans right around the world, which in turn have graduated to betting on MMA events held by the UFC.
While UFC betting is predominantly done by males (our friends at UFC betting sites told us) there has been growing interest from females, particularly with the ladies division of the UFC expanding rapidly. Household names in the female division of the UFC include Rhonda Rousey and Amanda “The Lioness” Nunes.

So it is critically important to understand the laws surrounding UFC betting sites in your country, or you risk getting into trouble for partaking in a banned activity. Some countries will regulated sports betting where the UFC is extremely popular include:
UK UFC betting sites
The UFC is massive in the United Kingdom and sports betting is even bigger, with literally hundreds of bookmakers taking bets on MMA fighting. UFC betting promotions 2025
The UFC is one of the biggest betting sports in the world, which means the 100s of Ultimate Fighting Championship betting sites are vying for your business.
In this section of our guide we will highlight all the UFC betting promotions that are available in 2025, including cash back offers and one-off deals on events taking place in the MMA world.
It is important to note that many UFC betting promotions will not be available in all locations, with some countries bookmakers and betting sites even outlawing new account incentives and some promotions.
Some of the UFC betting promotions you might find at sports book include:
- UFC cash back offers: Place a bet on a UFC event and receive cash back if it loses. Often this cash comes in the form of free bets or bonus money, which you will have to wager before you can withdraw.
- Bookie Sign up offers: UFC betting fans can utilise some great sign up offers at betting sites. These essentially give you a free bet or matched deposit bonus, which can then be used on your chosen MMA event.
- Boosted odds: While not available in all jurisdictions, many UFC betting sites will offer boosted odds on certain fighters when events roll around. This could mean, instead of getting even money, you might receive an extra 10 or 20% on top of your winnings.
How to bet on the Ultimate Fighting Championships
The team at the World Gambling List highly recommend all of the UFC betting sites we promote on this page; they are trustworthy brands and we bet with them ourselves.
Like most sports, UFC odds, even on the same fight, can vary from one bookmaker to another, which means it pays to have multiple accounts to find the top prices for each wager.
The key things to remember when looking for a sports betting site is to ensure they are legal in your jurisdiction, they have UFC betting and of course they cater to your currency.
There is no point joining a bookie if you can’t fund your account, but the good news is there are many ways to deposit money and generally UFC betting sites will have optimal options for the jurisdiction they operate in.
UFC bookmaker licensing will depend on where you are in the world. For instance, the UK has a fully regulated sports betting industry and legal betting sites. But many residents in the USA still bet illegal via offshore wagering operators, because there are no legal options in the state they reside in.
Creating an account at UFC betting sites is a simple process and involves filling in an online form, with things like your name, email, address and phone number required. You will then be required to verify your email address and ultimately your identity (or you will not be able to withdraw money).
Another huge advance in online betting in recent times has been the advent of mobile betting, with many of the top UFC sportsbooks now having downloadable apps. This means you can bet via mobile betting sites and via apps on everything MMA related.
Coverage of UFC events at all of the online betting agencies we advertise is clear and comprehensive.
Bet types on the UFC
While early days there were limited UFC bet types available, in recent times these have ballooned until you can bet on almost any aspect of the sport. This includes everything from the method of victory, to total rounds and even things like novelty bets, on what celebrities will be in attendance. Some of the most popular UFC bet types include:
Head-to-Head betting
Best place to start if you’re keen to have a punt on any MMA fight. As with other outright (head-to-head) wagers, odds will be offered for both competitors; the favourite will be listed at a shorter price and the underdog listed at a longer price. For example, Anderson Silva might pay $1.70 as the favourite to beat Chris Weidman who is paying $2.10 for victory.
Total Rounds
Fights in the UFC are either set at three or five rounds and bookmakers will often provide a market where punters can bet on the total number of rounds they think the fight will last (this will be listed as an Over/Under market). For instance, a five-round fight might have the following odds for a total rounds market: Over 2.5 rounds @ $1.65 and Under 2.5 rounds @ $2.30. If you think the fight will last three rounds, then bet on the Over option. If you’re banking on a quick knock-out in round one, then take the Under market.
Method of Victory
Here you can wager on how you believe the fight will end. There are three potential methods to victory in any UFC fight: Knock Out (KO), Submission or Points/Decision. If we refer back to the Silva and Weidman example, the possible bets for the method of victory option would read as follows: Weidman by KO, Weidman by submission, Weidman on points, Silva by KO, Silva by submission, Silva on points. All options will have different odds depending on the likelihood of each one occurring. Bet on whichever one you think will happen.
NB: There is also a similar market to the ‘method of victory’ market that is offered, just without the specific fighters, so you can bet on how the fight will end without indicating who will win. It is called ‘How the fight will end.’ Once again, the options available are KO, submission and points.
Will the Fight Go the Distance?
A simple question but never a simple answer. Whether the fight is three or five rounds, you have the ability to bet on whether you reckon the bout will go the entire journey (if it will reach the final round without either a KO or submission). You’ll find here that the odds for the ‘Yes’ option (the fight will go the distance) will be roughly similar to the odds of the fight being decided on points in the ‘How the fight will end’ market, as it means the same thing.
UFC betting tips
UFC betting can be an absolute minefield for those who don’t follow it closely, or understand the intricacies of betting on MMA. There are however some simple things that you can do that ensure you give yourself the best chance of walking away a winner when betting on the UFC.
- Consider the Underdog – Underdogs will often come out victorious so don’t shy away from punting on the fighter who is at longer odds. Results in the UFC are very unpredictable. If there is a stand-out favourite at very short odds and almost a lock to win, then consider increasing your odds by wagering on the method of victory by this certain fighter to make things more interesting.
- Check the Fighters’ History/Record – Each UFC fighter has a record inside the Octagon (the cage) and it is important to know how many fights the competitor has won/lost and the method of those victories and loses. If a certain fighter has won six fights in the UFC and five by way of Knock Out, then odds for another KO are starting to look good for you.
- Money Management – Always important to consider when betting in general is how you manage your hard-earned cash. UFC betting is very enjoyable and it is easy to get caught up in the fun and lose money fast. There will be several fights lined up on any one specific card (preliminary fights and main fights) so split your total amount you wish to lay down across the whole card and don’t let it all go to waste on one or two fights. Maybe multi a few fights together to increase your odds and limit your total expenditure.
