Melbourne v GWS tips, predictions and odds analysis; AFL Rd 16 Preview 2021
Welcome to our Melbourne v GWS tips, prediction and odds update ahead of their AFL…
Manly host the Broncos in a crucial Saturday night clash, with both teams in danger of losing relevance as attention turns to the run towards the finals.
Despite both being highly touted early this season, neither team has been able to find any consistency and another loss here would be a devastating blow as the eight starts to take shape. Anthony Seibold and Michael Maguire would not be happy with how their respective teams are travelling but a win here would go some way to setting things right.

In any case it should make for a bruising and entertaining encounter, even with several players backing up from the opening Origin game.
The Sea Eagles are coming off a horror show against Parramatta, when they meekly surrendered 30-10 but they are facing a team in even worse form, with consecutive losses against struggling Panthers, Rabbitohs and Dragons before a bye last round.
The big out for the home team is powerhouse fullback Tom Trbojevic (corked thigh), while forward Siosiua Taukeiaho is another to succumb to a thigh injury. The Sea Eagles are bolstered in the pack with Josh Aloiai (shoulder) and Ben Trbojevic (illness) returning. Jake Trbojevic is reportedly not yet ready to return from a heavy concussion, while halfback Daly Cherry-Evans is backing up from his Origin disappointment.
Meanwhile, Broncos forwards Pat Carrigan and Payne Haas played on opposite sides on Wednesday night but have been named for this clash. Both are outstanding athletes and should be able to have an impact again, albeit likely with reduced minutes. How this pair fronts up will go a long way to deciding the outcome.

Our NRL betting expert has highlighted his free tips for Saturday night’s game.
The towering and speedy winger has found some of the form that made him a rising star of the competition several seasons back. He has not lived up to the early raps as yet but weill back him to get over the line here. He is paying a juicy $1.96 to score a try with online betting sites.
We are banking on the home-ground factor, though Manly have not cashed in on it of late. Both of these teams have been middling on defence so the overs appeals. This option is around $3.60 with most Aussie bookmakers.
Probably two of the least reliable teams in the NRL in 2025. We think the Broncos are overall stronger contenders for the title but they need to show some signs of life before we fall for them again. So it’s Manly to win on their home deck. Our final Manly-Brisbane prediction? The Sea Eagles by 2 points.
