Australia v New Zealand tips, predictions & odds analysis, 1st ODI best bets

Welcome to our free betting tips, predictions and odds update for the Australia v New Zealand ODI clash being played on Friday at the SCG.
Australia is coming off a 3-0 thrashing in South Africa in an ODI series, while in their previous one-day series they lost 2-1 in India.
The Kiwis are coming off ODI and Test series wins at home against India, but they will still be smarting following their capitulation against Australia in Tests over the summer.
While NZ are the third-ranked ODI team in the world, and Australia have fallen to fifth following the South Africa thrashing, the Aussies have been priced as $1.62 favourites to win, while the visitors’ odds are at $2.25.
This three-match ODI series between Australia and New Zealand has copped some criticism because of its unusual scheduling at the tail-end of the Australian summer, but we’re expecting a fiercely contested battle and some outstanding betting opportunities.

Australia v New Zealand 1st ODI betting tips
As with all our cricket tips we have provided best bests and predictions for the Aus v NZ clash. For more info read our guide to betting on cricket.
Kyle Jamieson to take most wickets for NZ
Towering paceman Kyle Jamieson is our tip to take the most wickets against Australia on Friday. Jamieson was superb against India on debut with two wickets, before backing it up with another strong display in his second outing. We are tipping Jamieson to rattle the Aussies early and let’s face it, their other pacemen haven’t made a dent in the Aussie top order in recent times. Jamieson is paying $4.50 to take most wickets.
David Warner to top-score for Australia
Warner seems to enjoy feasting on NZ bowling attacks in recent times, with three centuries (including one at the SCG) in red ball cricket. While Warner is favourite at $3.75 to top the runs for the Aussies with Betway.com, we think his form against New Zealand is just too strong to ignore here.
Aus v NZ winner prediction – 1st ODI, March 13, 2020
Australia are coming off a tough schedule that has seen them play in India and South Africa when they would normally be wrapping up the Australian summer, while New Zealand are coming off a huge victory against the Indians at home and look to be in better form as a ODI team. Having said this, we are predicting Australia will win this match, largely because of the way the Kiwis struggled with the extra bounce in Australian pitches during the Tests. Bet on Australia to defeat New Zealand with confidence in this one.
