Preview of the top South African chances at the Masters

Louis Oosthuizen: The sweet-swinging veteran has not been in superb form in 2021 but he is one of those players who always steps up for the majors. In 2020 he finished third at the US Open. He has a second place at the Masters but he can be hit and miss at Augusta. The near miss in 2012 is his only top 10 finish.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout: A rising star who won back to back in South African European Tour events in 2020, but this is only his second shot at the Masters after he finished tied 38th last year. The second-ranked South African player at No.35 in the world, with Oosthuizen at 28th.

Dylan Frittelli: His fifth-place finish last season was an outlier as far as major performances go for the rock-solid Frittelli, a former US college golf star. He has struggled this season so far with a string of missed cut, though he played well at the Players Championship to finish tied 22nd. Maybe a return to Augusta will spark the long hitter.

Charl Schwartzel: Has slipped outside the world’s top 200 players on the official golf rankings and has struggled this season, but he can bob up at Augusta. Since his win in 2011 he has missed the cut four times, but he also finished third in 2017.

Our tip for top South African at US Masters: Louis Oosthuizen at $2.38
