This being Britain in the summer, bad weather has arrived to throw confusion into the ICC World Cup 2019 outlook.

New Zealand and India are the only two undefeated teams in the tournament and that status quo may remain if the weather does not clear in time.

If it does, this could be a defining match for New Zealand, who have won their opening three games against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan but face a far stiffer challenge against the classy Indian side.

India have also hit the ground running and accounted for fellow big guns Australia and South Africa with few problems. They also beat the Kiwis 4-1 in a series in NZ earlier this year.

This India v New Zealand betting preview will run you through betting options for match 18 of 48 of the ICC World Cup 2019.

HEAD TO HEAD BETTING:
India $1.44, New Zealand $2.75
Prediction: It’s hard to tip against India, given they have a great batting line-up, top-notch paceman and spinners and great all-rounders, not to mention a veteran superstar wicketkeeper ready to rescue them with the bat as required. But we do think the Kiwis are serious semi-final contenders, so this won’t be easy for the Indians.

India:
Top five in betting: Virat Kohli $3, Rohit Sharma $4, Shikhar Dhawan $4.50, Lokesh Rahul $6, Vijay Shankhar $8.

v Afghanistan: Kane Williamson 79no
v Bangladesh: Ross Taylor 82
v Sri Lanka: Martin Guptill 73no
v Bangladesh: Ross Taylor 69
v Bangladesh: Martin Guptill 118

Top batter prediction: Just take a look at the recent form of the top three in the Indian batting order and it’s hard to imagine at least one of them won’t make a big number. Dhawan and Sharma also did well in the series against New Zealand but this time we will stick with the great Virat Kohli. For the Kiwis, Ross Taylor has been good to us and he is a great chance at $4.50 with William Hill.

TOP WICKET-TAKER BETTING:

India:
Top five in betting: Jasprit Bumrah $3.25, Kuldeep Yadav $4.33, Yuzvendra Chahal $4.33, Bhuvneshwar Kumar $4.50, Mohammed Shami $5.

Top wicket-takers from past five ODIs:
v Australia: Jasprit Bumrah 3-61, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3-50
v South Africa: Yuzvendra Chahal 4-51
v Australia: Bhuvneshwar Kumar 3-48
v Australia: Jasprit Bumrah 3-63
v Australia: Kuldeep Yadav 3-64

New Zealand:
Top five in betting: Trent Boult $3.75, Matt Henry $4.33, Lockie Ferguson $4.50, Tim Southee $5, Ish Sodhi $5.

Top wicket-takers from past five ODIs:
v Afghanistan: Jimmy Neesham 5-31
v Bangladesh: Matt Henry 4-47
v Sri Lanka: Matt Henry 3-29, Lockie Ferguson 3-22
v Bangladesh: Tim Southee 6-65
v Bangladesh: Lockie Ferguson 3-43

Top bowler tip: New Zealand had a fair amount of trouble handling left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, so we will try him to top the wicket-takers. Kiwis spearhead Trent Boult is due for a big one, so a small bet on the equal top wicket-taker from the 2015 World Cup should not be far off the mark.

WGL best bets: India v New Zealand

Each of our ICC World Cup betting previews will highlight some potential wins for punters, or where our cricket tipsters think there is value to be found.

Man of the match Kuldeep Yadav $15

As mentioned Yadav bamboozled the Kiwis in New Zealand in a couple of the earlier matches of their tour. He took two four-wicket hauls and one of those could well be enough for him to be named man of the match at generous odds.

New Zealand to score most sixes and win at $5.50

One thing the Kiwis have in spades is batting firepower. If you think they are good enough to win the match, there is a fair chance they will hit more sixes, with players like Guptill, Taylor et al in the line-up.
