The Scorchers have won their past three games to get back in the mix but still have ground to make up as they have also lost three games, with one washout. They are second-last on the table but a win agianst the Thunder could take them as high as fourth as the finals loom.

Sydney Thunder will again be without in-form all-rounder Daniel Sams as they take a cautious approach to the concussion he suffered after being hit on the helmet on Boxing Day. The Thunder have had to adhere to strict biosecurity measures as they have travelled from Queensland but the match has been given the OK to go ahead by the WA government.
