Strikers v Stars betting tips, prediction & odds; BBL match 36 Preview

Scorchers v Renegades BBL10

Welcome to our Adelaide Strikers v Melbourne Stars betting tips, winner prediction and odds analysis for Game 36 of the 2020-21 Big Bash League at Adelaide Oval on Monday, January 11.

This the first meeting this season between the Strikers and Stars, and unfortunately also marks the final BBL10 appearance of the season for Afghan superstar Rashid Khan. Veteran paceman Peter Siddle will also miss the match after suffering a fractured thumb on his non-bowling hand in the loss to the Renegades.

But on the positive side the Strikers could regain star left-hander Travis Head after he was dropped from the Australian Test team.

Rashid Khan (Strikers), Mohammad Nabi (Renegades) and Mujeeb ur Rahman (Heat) have been selected to play for Afghanistan against Ireland in a three-match ODI series in the UAE starting on January 21.

Their departure leaves a tremendous hole as spinners Mujeeb and Rashid have been outstanding, while Nabi leaves the Renegades after a match-winning knock of 71 in his final game.

Strikers fans will be hoping Rashid leaves on a high as win against the Stars on Monday night could shore up their spot in the top four.

The Strikers’ batting has been inconsistent and the have leaned heavily on keeper Alex Carey. The addition of Head will help immensely.

Meanwhile, the Stars, who boast a line-up studded with star all-rounders, are desperate for a win.

They have slumped to seventh on the table with four losses in the past five matches and have been out of luck with one match washed out and another lost after being on the wrong end of Duckworth-Lewis scenario.

Strikers v Stars betting tips

Our cricket tipsters have examined the odds and found several Strikers v Stars tips for Monday night’s BBL clash.

Rashid Khan top wicket-taker for Strikers

The Afghan superstar is departing and the tournament is the poorer for it. But Rashid as a sense of occasion and no doubt will want to leave the home fans with a reminder of just how good a bowler he is. We will back him in for a big game, though he can be restricted from taking too many wickets by the fact opposition teams play him with an eye to survival rather than attack.

Marcus Stoinis man of the match

Stoinis could return to the bowling attack in this match. Add to that his damaging batting and he is a difficult package to stop. He has run into form with the bat and looms as the decisive player in this game.

Strikers v Stars prediction 11/1/2021

This should be a great clash for neutral fans to watch after enjoying the Test cricket between Australia and India from the SCG. The Stars were early favourites for this tournament but have been out of luck of late. They need players such as West Indian Andre Fletcher to step up with the bat against the dangerous Strikers attack. Our final Strikers v Stars prediction: Stars to get their season back on track.
