Gaming Corps strikes deal with Finnish operator Veikkaus

Swedish casino game developer Gaming Corps has signed a content agreement with Finland’s state-owned gambling operator Veikkaus, strengthening its position in the Nordic market ahead of major regulatory changes in 2027.

Announced on October 26, the partnership will initially bring Gaming Corps’ online slots portfolio to Veikkaus customers, with the potential to expand into additional game categories.

The agreement comes as Veikkaus prepares to lose its exclusive position in Finland’s online casino and sports betting markets when the country introduces a competitive licensing framework on July 1, 2027.

Gaming Corps chief executive Juha Kauppinen said the deal represented an opportunity to expand the iGaming supplier’s relationships with government-owned gambling operators.

Kauppinen said Veikkaus was the type of long-term partner Gaming Corps wanted to work with, adding that the company saw opportunities to broaden the agreement to include more of its game portfolio.

The initial rollout will focus on online slots, including titles from Gaming Corps’ established 3 Pigs franchise.

The company’s wider portfolio includes table games, plinko, mine games and multiplier-based products, alongside proprietary formats such as Smash4Cash, A-MAZE-CADES and X-MY-WAY.

Those products could become part of future discussions between the two companies.

Veikkaus currently serves approximately 2.7 million registered customers across lottery, sports betting, casino gaming and other gambling products.

Its digital platform is among Finland’s largest online commercial services, while the company also maintains an extensive land-based gambling network.

Riikka Seppänen, Vice President of iCasino at Veikkaus, welcomed the agreement and praised Gaming Corps’ ability to deliver its content quickly.

“Gaming Corps has been superb to work with, delivering its content in record time and with real precision,” Seppänen said.

“That speed and execution is hugely valuable to us, and their arrival comes at a great time as we continue preparing for the changes ahead in Finland.”

The partnership forms part of Veikkaus’ preparations for competition from international gambling operators.

Under the new regulatory framework, private companies will be permitted to offer licensed online casino games and sports betting, ending Veikkaus’ monopoly over those activities.

However, the state-owned operator will retain exclusive rights over lotteries, scratchcards and land-based casino gaming.

Veikkaus has already established relationships with several international suppliers as it prepares to compete for customers under the new system.

For Gaming Corps, the latest agreement provides access to a substantial existing customer base and further expands its distribution network among regulated gambling operators.

The company has identified state-owned gaming and lottery businesses as an important segment for future commercial growth.
