Brownlow Medal update - Dawson moves into second favourite to win

Adelaide Crows captain Jordan Dawson is now the outright second favourite to win the 2025 Brownlow Medal, after his starring role in the Crows win over Brisbane.

Dawson was not dominant statistically but his 18 possession game was highly influential in the Crows second-half comeback, and he often lead their scoring chains.

He also applied 11 tackles against the Lions with his Brownlow Medal odds subsequently slashed from $5 into $3.50, overtaking Collingwood sensation Nick Daicos, who has slid out to $4.50.

Daicos was well-held on the traditional fixture against Melbourne on the King’s Birthday, with Ed Langdon shadowing the Magpies ball-winner.

Geelong midfielder Bailey Smith did not play on the weekend after he withdrew in the warmup against the Suns after a minor hamstring complaint.

He remains the $3.50 favourite to win the Brownlow Medal with Play Up Australia, in what would be a remarkable first season at the Cats, following his well publicised split with the Western Bulldogs.

On the fourth line of betting is Gold Coast’s Noah Anderson who has been sliced into $19, ahead of Caleb Serong, Matt Rowell and Hugh McCluggage (all $34).

Collingwood is the AFL Premiership favourite at $3.75, with Geelong ($6) and Brisbane ($7) regarded as their biggest threats at Australian betting sites
