Australian Open women’s final tips and odds update

Who will win the 2020 Australian Open tennis women’s final between American Sofia Kenin and Spaniard Garbine Muguruza?
We have examined the form leading up to the match, which is to be played at Melbourne Park on Saturday evening (local time). That’s a relief for players and fans given the extreme heat in the city in the past few days.
Both players were impressive in causing upsets in their semi-finals, with Kenin downing world No.1 and home favourite Ashleigh Barty in straight sets, 7-6 (8-6) 7-5, while Muguruza overpowered third-ranked Romanian Simon Halep with exactly the same scoreline.
Rising Russia-born American Kenin came in as the 14th seed, while the Spaniard Muguruza is not seeded for the first time at a grand slam in almost six years, although she already has two grand slam titles to her name, at Wimbledon and the French Open.
Kenin beat Muguruza in three sets in their only previous encounter, last October in Beijing, China.
Read on to find out our betting tips for the 2020 Australian Open women’s final at Melbourne Park.

Tips for Australian Open women’s final

Garbine Muguruza to win 2 sets to 1

While of course the young American Kenin took down the world No.1 in the face of a hostile crowd, Muguruza’s run has a sense of timing about it. She lost her first set of the tournament 6-0 but has improved rapidly all the way through. She had a horrible year but has had a change of coach and perhaps a change of attitude.

Total games over 22.5

This option is available around the $2.05 mark and it’s not a bad one to have a crack at if you are unsure about who will come out on top but expect a three-set clash. We think this one is going down to the wire so are happy to be on this option.

Australian Open women’s final predictions

Garbine held her nerve superbly in the big points against a tough and talented semi-final opponent in Simona Halep. We expect a tight final with the greater experience of Muguruza telling in a three-set thriller. We think she can add a third grand slam title to an impressive resume.
