BetMGM renews Connor McDavid ambassador agreement
BetMGM has renewed its ambassador partnership with NHL star Connor McDavid, extending an agreement focused on responsible gambling campaigns.
The Edmonton Oilers captain, a three-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner, first partnered with BetMGM in March 2022.
Under the renewed agreement, McDavid will continue appearing in television, digital and social media advertising promoting responsible gambling tools, including deposit limits, stake limits, time-outs and self-exclusion options.
BetMGM said its “Mullet Over” campaign, launched in December 2025, contributed to a 27% year-on-year increase in the number of customer accounts using deposit limits.
“Connor has been an exceptional partner in helping us show that responsible gambling can be both engaging and effective,” BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said.
“The results of our campaign reflect how thoughtful messaging can drive meaningful action, with more players using tools like deposit limits to play within their comfort level.”
McDavid said discipline and decision-making were important in both hockey and sports betting.
“Being disciplined and making smart decisions are big parts of hockey. They’re important when it comes to sports betting, too,” McDavid said.
“BetMGM gives players tools that help them stay in control of their play, because keeping betting fun starts with betting responsibly.”
A third responsible gambling advertisement featuring McDavid is scheduled to begin airing shortly, with the operator planning to extend the campaign into additional markets.
BetMGM currently operates across 31 markets through its mobile and retail betting businesses.
The operator also provides access to GameSense, a responsible gambling education program developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation.
