Ireland v Russia betting tips, odds, predictions – RWC 2019 Match 22

Ireland Rugby World CUp betting preview and tips

Welcome to our betting preview of match 22 of the Rugby World Cup between Ireland and Russia at Kobe Misaki Stadium on Thursday, October 3.
Ireland will go into this match as unbackable favourites and are seeking to put their campaign back into some sort of order after their shock loss to hosts Japan.
Ireland have drifted in the market out to $13 to win the title, but we have not completely drawn a line through them just yet.
Finishing top of Pool A is still a possibility; finishing second is bad news as it means a likely quarter-final match-up against tournament favourites New Zealand.
To this match though and Russia have been OK defensively in their opening two matches. Their attack has struggled though and they will find the Irish defence, which has conceded just one try in two matches, suffocating.

Check out our team previews to get the latest form, our tips for leading try-scorer from each team and where we think they will finish in the tournament.

Ireland v Russia prediction: The weather forecast is for warm but wet conditions. We see Ireland holding the Russians to under 10 points but then the question is whether they can cover the large handicap line of 51.5 points. They will be taking no prisoners here and average almost 50 points in their two matches against the Russians.

Best bets for Ireland v Russia RWC2019 match

Ireland -51.5 points at $1.91

While the conditions will work against the Irish playing expansively here, they will be desperate to rack up a big score, to keep alive their hopes of topping the group. Irish star Johnny Sexton is back after missing the Japan game and has been named captain for this one. His nous should take them a long way towards overcoming the deficit.

Johnny Sexton man of the match

They really missed the world player of the year in the game against Japan. This option should be around the $6 mark with most bookmakers but it pays to shop around. Bookies such as William Hill could be offering enhanced odds.
