Netball World Cup 2019 semi-finals odds, analysis and best bets

Netball World Cup odds and betting analysis

Bookmakers have installed Australia as prohibitive $1.52 favourites to win the Netball World Cup as we head into the semi-finals in Liverpool on Saturday.

There was a small surprise heading into the semi-finals with Jamaica failing to qualify, with South Africa stepping up to take a place in the final four.

The South Africans will face the 11-time champions Australia in the first semi-final starting at 11.15am local time, while home team England face New Zealand at 3pm, with the winners to meet in the final on Sunday.

GUIDE: Best International sports betting sites

Australia should prove too strong in the opening semi-final for the upstart South Africa, who scored a great win over the Jamaicans 55-52 but were humbled by England by 11 goals.

It is the other semi-final which attracts our attention from a gambling perspective. New Zealand are rated outsiders at $3.85 but after they lost by a single goal against Australia and probably deserved to draw, we think they are a great change in this match, and look good things at the line where they have been given a 6.5-goal start.

England stepped up to the big time when they defeated Jamaica by in the final of the Commonwealth Games in Australia, but they must back that up against the traditional powerhouses New Zealand and, most likely, Australia if they are to claim the world title.

Netball World Cup odds

Semi-final 1: Australia $1.06, South Africa $8
Semi-final 2: England $1.25, New Zealand $3.85

To win the title
Australia $1.52
England $3
New Zealand $7.50
South Africa $23

Best bet: Netball World Cup

Title winner tip: We think New Zealand are fantastic value to win overall at $7.50. They seem in great shape after a narrow loss to Australia and match up well against England. A lot of course will come down the shooting of Maria Folau. She missed a chance to secure a draw but she is a champion player and is sure to bounce back hard here.
