New Zealand v India 4th T20 International tips, odds update

Australia v India T20 game one.

Welcome to our NZ v India odds update and preview for the fourth Twenty20 International at Westpac Stadium, Wellington, on Friday, January 31.
India are hot favourites to go 4-0 up in the five-match series, after they scored a remarkable win in an elimination over at Hamilton on Wednesday to seal the series 3-0.
It was cruel for the Kiwis, who somehow managed to throw away a win despite needing only a couple of runs off the last three balls. Mohammed Shami came up trumps to dismiss Kane Williamson and then Ross Taylor on the final ball to force an extra over.

Even then Black Caps looked home and hosed after making 18 from their super over, only for Rohit Sharma to club the last two balls of Tim Southee’s over for six to give India an unlikely win.
It was great batting and equally poor death bowling by Southee, and was a stark reminder the Kiwis are missing three front-line pacemen.
The bad news for New Zealand is that Trent Boult (fractured hand), Lockie Ferguson (calf) and Matt Henry (broken thumb) have this week been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against India and are in a race against time to be fit for the Test matches.
Losing in a super over also brought back painful memories of NZ’s loss in last year’s ICC World Cup final against England.
The T20 series move on to windy Wellington for the fourth match on Friday, and the Kiwis have a good record in T20s at the ground with eight wins from 11 matches, including their past six on the trot.
They destroyed India in a match at the ground just under a year ago with stand-in opener Tim Seifert smashing 84 off just 43 balls to set up the win.

NZ v Ind 4th T20 betting tips

Here are the WGL’s betting tips for the NZ-India T20 on Friday, January 31. For more information about betting on international cricket fixtures follow the link.

Mitchell Santner top wicket-taker for NZ

It’s been a fairly tough summer for the left-armer but he bowled well on Wednesday and has a good recent record at this ground. Odds of around $4.50 will be available for Santner to top the Kiwi wicket-takers.

Virat Kohli man of the match at $7

It’s hard to picture anything other than another Indian win and the captain has been on the cusp of a big one. We are never unhappy to have one of the greatest batsman of his generation batting for us. Bat has dominated ball for much of the first three matches and the trend is likely to continue.

NZ most sixes at $1.80

The Black Caps need to go big if they bat first, while the Indian batsmen are certainly capable of launching maximums but tend to play more correctly for the most part. Perhaps that’s why they keep winning.

New Zealand v India predictions – 4th T20, January 31, 2020

The Kiwis came so close to winning at Seddon Park but they need to put that disappointment behind them quickly. They really need to put a win on the board to half the tourists’ momentum and little before we switch to 50-over cricket and then of course the Test matches. They will need something extra special though, given even a superb knock from Kane Williamson wasn’t enough in Hamilton. Maybe it’s time for one of their bowlers to step up. Good punting.
