South Africa v Australia 2nd One-day International, Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein, betting preview, tips

England vs Australia predictions, betting and odds update.

South Africa remain outsiders in betting for the second one-day international against Australian in Bloemfontein, despite their super win game one.
Bookmakers are offering an enticing $2.75 about the Proteas repeating their victory at a ground where they boast around a 75 per cent win rate in ODIs.
Heinrich Klaasen was the hero of game one with his maiden century in this format, but it will be captain and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock who will be the key to their chances of sealing the series 2-0.

Australia must regroup quickly, but they have an impressive record in recent times in the 50-over game and we can expect them to do so in style.
The good news for followers of the WGL cricket tipsters is that even though we did not tip the Proteas win in the first match, we did correctly select Steve Smith to top the Australian run-scorers.
Aussie captain Aaron Finch told AAP they were unlikely to hit the panic button and make wholesale changes to the line-up.
“It’s important that when you’re on a road to improvement and trying to find your best combinations and give guys opportunities to establish themselves in the side, you give them the respect of continuing to stick with that for a little while as well,” Finch said.
“As soon as you start chopping and changing all the time, I think that’s when guys are looking over their shoulder for their spot.”

Quinton de Kock top Sth Africa run-scorer at $2.75

We are taking on the short odds about the Proteas captain for two reasons: firstly he rarely fails in two matches in succession and, secondly, last time he played an ODI at this ground he made 138 not out against England in a losing effort.

Adam Zampa top wicket-taker for Australia at $4.50

Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein, is a ground which can suit the spinners, as shown by the dominance enjoyed by South African tweaker Imran Tahir in the final few years of his career. Zampa has not been far away from a good haul in these limited-overs matches against South Africa and we will back him to take his turn here.

South Africa v Australia predictions – 2nd ODI, March 4, 2020

Australia are a powerful unit while South Africa are a little depleted with star paceman Kagiso Rabada sidelines and a couple of top batsmen rested for this series. A few of the lesser lights stepped up at Paarl, but expect the Australians to click back into gear here. Particularly if they can bat first, which seems to suit their openers far better than chasing a total. The $1.44 on offer is a little light on for our liking so we will stick to the player markets, in which we might play up some of our winnings on Steve Smith from the first match on the same player again. Good punting.
