Sri Lanka v India preview, player tips & predictions

Sri Lanka vs India predictions - ICC World Cup 44/48

Welcome to our ICC World Cup predictions for Sri Lanka v India being played at Headingley, Leeds. Our Cricket World Cup betting expert runs the rule over the two teams and finds some potentially lucrative wagers.

Leading cricket bookmaker William Hill has rated India red-hot $1.17 favourites to win their final group match against Sri Lanka before the World Cup semi-finals.

India are expected to include batsman Mayank Agarwal in their side for this final match. The right-hander is the replacement for Vijay Shankar, who has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament with a broken toe.

India have lost only once in the tournament, against England last Sunday, and this match will largely be about tuning up for the finals, though they can potentially finish top of the standings if they defeat Sri Lanka and Australia lose their final match on Saturday against South Africa.

The Indian machine is humming along nicely with strike bowler Jasprit Bumrah and superstar batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, especially, in superb touch.

Sri Lanka cannot make the finals but will be keen to finish an up-and-down campaign with a good showing.

It pays to check leading cricket bookies William Hill on the day of the match to spot any late specials on offer. Your tip for top batsman could be among the enhanced odds offering.

Each of our ICC World Cup betting previews will highlight some potential wins for punters, or where our cricket tipsters think there is value to be found.

Jasprit Bumrah man of the match at $11

The batsmen have largely dominated the honours for the Indians at this World Cup but this time we will try their superstar ODI bowler. He has built nicely into the tournament and will be a massive threat to whoever they meet in the semi-finals. He is so hard to get away early.

Sri Lanka v India predictions

WGL, along with a billion or so of their countrymen, expects the India team to win easily, though that is true of almost any match they play in. Their players are well used to playing pressure matches and never take any match lightly. Will be an interesting watch from the perspective of the semi-finals. Good punting.
