South Africans in the IPL and title odds

There are 17 South Africans taking part in the Indian Premier League, which kicks off this weekend, with several at the bookie’s elect to win the T20 tournament.
Master blaster Heinrich Klaasen and faster-bowler Wiaan Mulder will suit up for Sunrisers Hyderabad, who have been priced the equal 5.50 favourite to win the IPL with betting sites, alongside Mumbai Indians and Chennai Superkings.
Klaasen was a high-priced recruit for the Sunrisers at R49.3 million, but his IPL record of 993 runs at an average of 38.19 and strike rate of 168.31 shows that he has the class to shine. Mulder is likely to be a back-up for the Sunrisers, but a few starts would not surprise.

Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch, who both play for MI Cape Town, the Indians South African T20 venture in the Betway SA20, will both suit up for the IPL club. Rickelton has shown for the Proteas that he has plenty of tricks on the T20 stage.
Kagiso Rabada and Gerard Coetzee will also line up with an IPL contender, with Gujarat Titans securing the Poteas pair.
Rabada has an exemplary record in the IPL with 117 wickets at a touch under 22, and his move to the 2022 champions will give them some firepower with the ball.
Coetzee has been having a horror run with injuries but if he can find form the Titans loom as a smokey for the IPL.
Defending champion Kolkota Knightriders have also looked to South Africa to bolster their squad, with Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje expected to play prominent roles. Nortje is another who will be hoping for a clean bill of health after a horror run.
