FIFA strikes deal for live streaming at online bookies

FIFA has named Stats Perform as its first-ever official distributor of betting data and betting live-streaming rights, in a landmark agreement that brings World Cup matches directly into licensed sportsbooks for the first time.

Under the multi-year deal, Stats Perform receives exclusive rights to distribute official betting data and live betting streams for selected FIFA competitions, including all 104 matches of the expanded FIFA World Cup 2026, which begins on June 11, 2026 in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The agreement also covers the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027, multiple futsal tournaments, youth World Cups and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup through 2029.

FIFA’s Chief Business Officer Romy Gai said the agreement would create new opportunities for fans to engage with their products.

“We are delighted to partner with Stats Perform, a global leader in sports data,” she said.

“This innovative partnership will create great opportunities to deliver official products for the benefit of the game and its fans.”

For the first time in World Cup history, licensed bookmakers will be able to stream live matches directly within their betting platforms using official FIFA feeds. Stats Perform will distribute streams via its Bet LiveStreams product to approved sportsbook partners in regulated markets.

Sports betting sites expected to offer streams include major global bookmakers such as Bet365, Flutter-owned brands including Betfair and Paddy Power, Entain brands such as Ladbrokes and Coral in the UK, and regulated gambling operators in Brazil.

Stats Perform’s RunningBall division will deliver ultrafast official betting data for in-play markets, while its Opta brand will supply official player statistics, live scores and match trackers to sportsbooks.

The deal sits alongside FIFA’s traditional broadcast arrangements. In the United States, the World Cup’s primary media rights holder is Fox Sports. In the UK, matches will be shared between the BBC and ITV, while Brazil’s free-to-air coverage is led by TV Globo.

FIFA said the betting-focused partnership does not replace broadcast agreements, but complements them by serving regulated betting audiences.

Stats Perform CEO Carl Mergele described the deal as adding “the pinnacle of the world’s biggest game” to the company’s betting data and streaming portfolio.

“FIFA competitions represent the pinnacle of the world’s biggest game,” he said.

“Our clients will be delighted we’re able to add FIFA competitions to our Opta and RunningBall official betting data portfolio, and our innovative, AI-enriched Bet LiveStreams service.

“We share FIFA’s vision to help the magic of the beautiful game be felt more deeply, by more fans, worldwide.”

The agreement also includes integrity monitoring support, with Stats Perform assisting FIFA’s integrity unit in overseeing member association content distributed through FIFA+.
