Kenilworth racing tips for February 25

Kenilworth Racing Club will host an eight race card on Wednesday February 25, and while there is no black type racing, there are some likely types going around at the Cape Town venue.

Kenilworth form expert Brandon Bailey has assessed the fields, form and odds and presents his tips for the meeting, with it expected to be run under sunny skies and on a good track.

Lets take a look at each race at Kenilworth for February 25, 2026:

Race 1

WINTER PIRATE (8) ran a great race on debut, staying on well for third behind World Series at Kenilworth on February 4. With natural improvement expected from this well-bred colt, he definitely has a winning chance in this field. There’s very little exposed form to go on, so the betting market will be our best guide. We have some well-bred runners from powerful yards lining up in this race, and it would be no surprise to see one of them win.

Brandon Bailey picks: 8 – 7 – 6 – 1

Race 2

RHYTHM KING (3) stayed on nicely for second behind Klein Karoo at Durbanville on February 11. The blinkers have been fitted to this gelding on Wednesday, and there is no doubt he can win a race like this on his best form. TROIS SEPT HUIT (9) ran a great race last time, doing good work late for third behind Trailfinder on January 13. He is improving with every start and will be tough to beat. RED WAVE (7) was disappointing at Durbanville on February 11 after going too fast early, but he is much better than that performance. HEDRIVESMECRAZY (8) ran a much better race last time, finishing fourth behind Different World at Kenilworth on February 4, and could sneak into the places.

Brandon Bailey: 3 – 9 – 7 – 8

Race 3

TOTHEMOONANDBACK (2) finished two lengths behind Midway at Durbanville on January 21. He stays well, is in good form, and will be right there in the finish. HELIOTROPE (6) needed her last run back and caught the eye late for third behind Double Dash on February 11. TWICE THE MASTER (5) finished just over two lengths behind Gentleman Joe on January 4 and looks well placed here. ELEGANT NOBLE (1) could be the value play after a strong run behind Note To Self on January 31.

Brandon Bailey: 2 – 6 – 5 – 1

Race 4

KITUBA (5) ran a fair race on debut at Durbanville on January 21. This well-bred filly should improve and go close to winning. ALESSIA ASHEVILLE (4) had no luck in running last time but still finished strongly behind Winter In Auckland on February 11. KISSES (8) has been rested and the drop in trip could prove key. GQEBERHA (10) is much better than her last start suggests and can bounce back.

Brandon Bailey: 5 – 4 – 8 – 10

Race 5

BEAUTIFUL ONE (3) ran a brilliant race for second behind Amayah on January 21. From a good draw, she will be tough to beat. PACIFIC WATERS (5) has been rested and looks suited stepping back up in trip. RED TAFFETY (4) should appreciate the distance, while UP IN FLAMES (9) could show improvement despite a wide draw.

Brandon Bailey: 3 – 5 – 4 – 9

Race 6

PRAIRIE DAWN (8) won his maiden impressively at Durbanville on January 21 and looks extremely progressive. UNITED FRONT (4) finished strongly for second behind Foudre on January 31 and has a big winning chance. SOMMERSTERN (1) will be storming home late, while IN A TIMELY MANNER (2) can improve from a better draw.

Brandon Bailey: 8 – 4 – 1 – 2

Race 7

HIAWATHA GOLDBERG (1) stayed on well for fifth behind Sooty at Durbanville on February 11 and will be running on late. CELTIC CHIEF (5) needed his last run and will be fitter. OZARK (9) has been rested and looks competitive, while TRUE HORIZON (2) will be finishing strongly.

Brandon Bailey: 1 – 5 – 9 – 2

Race 8

GIVEN TO FLY (2) was doing good work late behind Black Path on January 17 and has a strong winning chance. ACT OF GRACE (3) just missed last time and will be right there again. BLACK PATH (8) will be finishing strongly, while MEG’S LEGACY (10) should not be overlooked despite the draw.

Brandon Bailey: 2 – 3 – 8 – 10
