Welcome to our Collingwood v West Coast tips, prediction and odds update ahead of their AFL round 20 clash at the MCG on Saturday.
The seventh-placed Eagles can almost guarantee their finals position with a win, with eight points separating them from ninth-placed Essendon, but a loss would put them right back in the pack.
Collingwood’s finals chances are over but players are on edge with a new coach set to lead the club next season, with former St Kilda midfielder Robert Harvey the interim mentor.
West Coast is a $1.60 favourite in the betting, with the Magpies ($2.35) finding some fans, but not expected to seriously challenge, given their injuries to key players. Neds betting has set the $1.90 line at 7.5.

The Magpies were soundly beaten by Port Adelaide on Friday night, but never completely dropped away, despite a broken leg to captain Scott Pendlebury, which kept him out of most of the contest.
The Eagles were eight-point winners over St Kilda on Saturday, but could easily have lost the contest, with the Saints wasteful in front of goal.
Collingwood has added high-flying Jeremy Howe after a hamstring injury to bolster their inexperienced defence, but the loss of Pendlebury and potentially Taylor Adams, who was barely sighted in the second-half against the Power, is a major blow. The Magpies have also recalled Will Hoskin-Elliott, Josh Thomas and Chris Mayne.
West Coast has lost star forward Liam Ryan to a hamstring strain, with this the latest blow to their ailing premiership aspirations. Jarrod Brander and Mark Hutchings have also earned call-ups. Luke Shuey (calf) and Jack Petrucelle (hamstring) were both aiming to play against the Magpies, but only the latter has come up, with the speedster joined in the line-up by Jack Redden.

Here are our free AFL betting tips for the Magpies v Eagles:
Collingwood was put to the sword by the Power’s tall forwards last round and we can see a repeat happening here, with Josh Kennedy, Jack Darling and Oscar Allen up front for the Eagles. Keep a close eye on the weather, but we think Allen could be the one to slip under the radar. Allen is paying $5.50 to kick 3+ goals with Unibet.
Sheed has made it a game within the game to torture Magpies supporters over the years and a strong game against a weakened Magpies team would not surprise. He is also paying around $3 to get 20 possessions and kick a goal which is great value.
Collingwood has definitely become a more aggressive outfit under Robert Harvey, but they tend to leak goals, which could just be a result of a decimated backline. We can see this game bucking the trend of defence-first Magpies-Eagles clashes and result in a high-scoring affair. The 145.5 over/under betting market looks generous and we’ll have this in our same game multi legs.
West Coast has won successive games and they must make it a third against the Magpies, but they will have to do it in Melbourne. The Eagles’ rocky form in Victoria’s capital is frustrating Eagles fans, with these inconsistent performances perhaps made worse by the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic. While the Magpies’ backline will be boosted by Howe, we can’t see them upsetting an Eagles team that has three quality talls, unless there is some serious rain on Saturday or Jordan De Goey plays out of his skin. Our final Collingwood v West Coast prediction? Eagles by nine points.
