Australia v West Indies tips - Steve Smith won't be playing in the series

Australia has the opportunity to win a third series against the West Indies this summer, with the first of their three T20 cricket fixtures taking place at Blundstone Arena on Friday night.

Our cricket betting experts have cast their eye over the fixtures and found some value Australia v West Indies tips for the three match series.

With the shorter nature of T20 cricket, we are offering advice to take on board for the entire series, which begins in Tasmania, before heading to Adelaide Oval on Sunday and Optus Stadium in Perth next Tuesday.

Australia will be without gun bat Steve Smith, while the West indies are unable to consider a bevy of stars, including pace sensation Shamar Joseph (injury) and their absent T20 guns-for-hire, who have chosen riches over country.

Australia is a $1.33 favourite to win the first T20 fixture, with the West indies at a juicy $3.25 with PlayUp Australia.

Australia v West Indies tips

Here are our free Australia v West Indies tips for the three match series in Australia:

Marcus Stoinis to top-score in T20 1

All-rounder Marcus Stoinis has never quite solidified his spot in any Australian team, but with stand-in skipper Mitch Marsh in doubt with covid, it could be his time to shine against a West indies team that can let batsmen get away from them. Stoinis is paying $10 to top-score for the Aussies in the first T20 and could be a surprise at no.3 if Marsh does not play on Friday. He’s also likely to get a bowl at some point.

David Warner to score 20+ runs

Australian veteran David Warner may have retired from Tests but he still is an impervious and highly consistent T20 batsman. Warner is almost certain to open the innings in all three of the Aussies matches and putting him to score 20+ runs $1.57 is likely to hit, more often than not.

Shai Hope to top-score

West Indies will rely on Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran to prop up the top order and both are offering decent value $1.75 and $1.65 respectively. It could also be worth having something on the likes of Rovman Powell, who could get opportunities, despite batting down the order.

Alzarri Joseph to take 2+ wickets

The West Indies firebrand looks to be built for T20 cricket with his searing pace when bowling, and powerful hitting when batting. Joseph is paying $2.30 to take 2+ wickets, which looks to be great value.

Australia v West Indies T20 series prediction

Australia look to be close to full-strength for this series and it’s hard seeing the West Indies troubling them, despite the shock of them winning the final Test, just over a week ago. There looks to be nice some value to be found for punters despite Australia expecting to dominate. Our final Australia v West Indies series prediction: Australia to win 2-1.
