Collingwood v Fremantle betting tips, prediction & odds; AFL Rd 15 preview
Collingwood Magpies v Fremantle Dockers betting tips, prediction and odds analysis for the AFL round 15 clash at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
This is an intriguing match-up, with long-time assistant Robert Harvey taking the reins for his first match as caretaker coach of the Magpies, after club legend Nathan Buckley signed off with an upset win against the ladder-leading Melbourne at the SCG in round 14.
AFL THURSDAY: Brisbane v Geelong tips
AFL FRIDAY: Richmond v St Kilda tips
AFL SATURDAY: Essendon v Melbourne tips
Bookmakers have made the Magpies slight favourites at $1.77, but this is no easy task as the Magpies head into this match in 15th place with a 4-9 win-loss record against the 11th-placed Dockers (6-7).
Fremantle have also won their past two matches against the Magpies, with former Magpies assistant coach and now Dockers coach Justin Longmuir well versed in the Magpies’ style of play.
Collingwood must also deal with the loss of star defender Darcy Moore (knee) for the rest of the season and also are missing powerful forward/midfielder Jordan De Goey (suspension).
The Magpies dropped the unlucky ruckman Max Lynch, who had the best game of his career against the Demons but has to make way for the Pies’ superstar big man Brodie Grundy.
Tough midfielder Taylor Adams returns after a knee injury, along with out-of-favour giant Mason Cox.
The Dockers have swung five changes despite their 27-point win against the Gold Coast last round, with the incoming players superstar Nat Fyfe, dasher Nathan Wilson, Sam Switkowski, Griffin Logue, and key forward Matt Taberner.
Brett Bewley, Connor Blakely, Joel Western, Mitch Crowden, Reece Conca and Taylin Duman were all omitted.

Collingwood v Fremantle tips
Our AFL betting expert has assessed the markets and found some free Magpies v Dockers tips:
Tri-bet: either team by under 15.5 points
We expect a close contest here, particularly with the roof open on what could be a cold and wet day in Melbourne. A crowd of around 25,000 is allowed under the latest Victorian government protocols. Check out the betting at PlayUp Australia.
Fremantle +5.5 points/match total under 151.5 points
This double was available at Unibet Australia on Thursday night and they might be late in updating their total points line here. It seems rather generous given the ruling on keeping the Marvel Stadium roof open.
Brody Mihocek to kick 2+ goals
The hard-working Magpies forward is their most reliable avenue to goal and you can expect him to have chances in sunshine or in sleet. He will probably enjoy having big Mason Cox back in the side and so often is the player to slip under the guard of the opposition.
Collingwood v Fremantle prediction 26/6
The Dockers have really got a handle on how to beat Collingwood under Longmuir and there is no reason they can’t do it again here. The Magpies scored an emotional win against the Demons but overall the Dockers’ form has been superior and a win here could have them right on the cusp of the eight. Also the Pies have lost their two most damaging players in De Goey and Moore. Brodie Grundy v Sean Darcy in the ruck should be a telling contest. Our final Collingwood v Fremantle prediction? Fremantle by four points.
