Bangladesh v West Indies tips, best bets and winner prediction; 2nd Test Preview

England v West Indies betting tips, predictions & odds; 1st Test preview 2020

Welcome to our preview of the second Test between Bangladesh and the West Indies starting on February 11 at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.

After securing one of the biggest upset victories in their history last week, could the West Indies make lightning strike twice in the second Test against Bangladesh?

The men from the Caribbean are paying $4.50 to win in Dhaka from Thursday at Betway after defying $7 head-to-head odds in the first Test.

After toiling in the field for the first three days, the visitors were set a mammoth 395 to win after a Bangladesh declaration on day four – a total that would be a Test record in Asia.

Enter debutant Kyle Mayers.

After coming to the crease with his side at a perilous position at 3-59 and still 336 runs away from victory, the left-hander compiled a record 210 not out, withstanding Bangladesh’s spin attack on a final-day turning deck.

Ably supported by fellow debutant Nkrumah Bonner (86) in a record 216-run partnership, Mayers took the ascendancy with 20 fours and seven maximums and carried his team to the finish line, hitting the winning runs with just a few overs to go in the day’s play.

The West Indies, who lost their last Test series in Bangladesh 2-0 with a full team, were without six first-choice Test players, fielded three debutants and were given no hope to pull off this heist.

On the other side of the aisle, Bangladesh will be ruing the lost opportunity and the injury to returning superstar Shakib Al Hasan, who will miss this game after suffering a groin injury in the first match.

The hosts, still the overwhelming $1.45 favourites at Betway will be looking to bounce back sharply and take something out of this series.

Bangladesh v West Indies betting tips

WGL’s cricket betting expert has cast an eye over the markets and found some value Bangladesh v West Indies tips for the 2nd Test.

Jermaine Blackwood ($6) – 2nd Test high bat betting

While the hero of the first test, Kyle Mayers, is paying $5.50 at Betway to repeat the feat and top the run chart in the first innings, our tip is with the Windies’ middle-order firebrand Jermaine Blackwood.

Blackwood was the Windies’ leading Test run-scorer in 2020 and made a quality half century in the first Test of this series.

Paying $5.50 at Betway, Blackwood looks like the value bet in this market, which could be skewed as punters rush to jump on the Mayers bandwagon.

Mustafizur Rahman most wickets 1st innings

He may have only got two wickets in two innings during the first Test, but Mustafizur Rahman is still our tip for most wickets in this match.

The Fiz is often deployed as Bangladesh’s lone fast bowler in an attack full of spinners and works hard for his wickets.

The news coming out of Dhaka ahead of this match is that the pitch may be able to offer a bit more assistance for the likes of Rahman, who had a five-wicket haul the last time he played here.

Bangladesh vs West Indies 2nd Test prediction 11/2/2021

It couldn’t happen again, could it?

Bangladesh will be desperate to make up for the disappointing loss in the first Test, while the Windies will be full of confidence and belief after a remarkable victory.

Test cricket has thrown up a few remarkable results over the last few months and we’re tipping that remarkable run to continue in this match.

Our final West Indies v Bangladesh prediction? The Windies at $4.50 at Betway provides enough value for us to follow them in.
