Eagle Farm tips and race preview, Dane Ripper Stakes day, Saturday, June 13, 2020

Melbourne Cup 2020 Flemington

After the reshaped Brisbane winter carnival peaked with Stradbroke Handicap day, we are back to the top Queensland track for the Group 2 double of the Dane Ripper Stakes and Magic Millions The Roses.

The support card features the Group 3 Sky Active Tattersall’s Cup and the Group 3 Ascot Green Eagle Farm Mile, as well as a couple of listed races.

It’s another deep meeting offering great value for punters, and we have examined the main races to try to find a winner or two for our loyal supporters.

There are several rising equine stars of the turn engaged along with the best jockeys and trainers Queensland has to offer.

Read on for our free Eagle Farm tips and preview of the feature races, plus other tips from the meeting being run on June 13, 2020.

Eagle Farm, race 5, Sky Active Tattersall’s Cup, 2.02pm local time (2400m)

This group 3 provides a testing 2400m; the mile and a half at Eagle Farm will certainly sort out the strong stayers from the rest. Champion trainer Chris Waller amazingly had the first six horses over the line in the Group 3 Chairman’s Handicap over 2000m a fortnight ago and five of those are engaged again here. 3.Le Juge pays the price for winning that race with a sharp rise in the weights, while stablemates 10.Another Dollar and 11.Savacool finished third and second respectively and get weight relief.

Our tip: The consistent 11.Savacool should get all the favours from gate four and looks the value from the Waller runners.

Eagle Farm, race 7, Magic Millions The Roses, 3.22pm local time (1800m)

This a group 2 restricted to three-year-old fillies and the boom filly 2.Vanna Girl will start a short-priced favourite after her huge effort to win at Doomben a couple of weeks back. We are a little concerned with the wide gate, which could mean she gets a long way back during the run, but she is a class act with six wins and two placings from only nine starts. The first five placegetters from that Doomben race are engaged, with 4.Celestial Falls looming as the obvious danger after running second last time. She should get a cosy run from gate four for Michael Cahill. 9.Sky Horse should be suited by the extra distance.

Our tip: 4.Celestial Falls to turn the tables and you can secure each-way odds with Unibet, though Vanna Girl will be charging again at the end.

Eagle Farm, race 8, Ascot Green Eagle Farm Mile, 4pm local time (1600m)

4.Niccanova is the early favourite for this Group 3 contest and he is a consistent galloper with nine wins and nine placings from only 26 starts. We are warming to the chances of topweight 1.Best Of Days from the Godolphin camp, which should appreciate this class. Stablemate 5.Gaulois is drawn wide but should push up near the lead, while 14. Delectation Girl has a booming finish and should be fitter for her recent run at Scone,

Our tip: Delectation Girl to finish over the top of rivals at around $8 with leading bookmaker Unibet.

Eagle Farm, race 9, Quincy Dane Ripper Stakes, 4.35pm local time (1400m)

A cracking Group 2 for fillies and mares to close out the card and bookmakers have made 2.Irithea the favourite. You know what you are going to get with her and from gate one she will be leading or sitting just behind the speed. There looks to be a good deal of pace in this race, so we are looking at the swoopers at value prices to get the job done. 3.Outback Barbie drops back from open company and fits into this category, while 12.Into The Abyss and 16.Jen Rules should also be hitting the line hard.

Our tip: Into The Abyss looks a great each-way bet at big odds around 16-1 with Unibet.
