NRL round 15: Rabbitohs v Broncos betting tips
NRL round 15 is the second State of Origin-interrupted round of the season and arrives at a poor time for the defending premiers Brisbane Broncos, who have slumped to 12th place on the table after five losses on end.
The Broncos face South Sydney on Thursday night in Sydney to kick off the round, and just when they could use all hands on deck, their best players, including centre Kotoni Staggs, prop superstar Payne Haas and flying fullback Reece Walsh are lost to Origin duty, adding to other injury woes.
Luckily for the defending champs, the Rabbitohs have dropped their past three games and are also in some sort of disarray with a lengthy injury list as well as losing ace back-rower Cameron Murray to the NSW Origin team.
This clash will be a good test of the depth of both squads, and the Broncos have come up strongly on that front many times in recent years. The teams played twice last season, with the Broncos winning at home 60-14 in round 22, with the Bunnies winning 22-14 in Sydney in round 10.
Bookies believe Souths will be too strong at home and Australian betting sites have made them firm favourites to retain their place in the top eight.
Rabbitohs v Broncos team news
Rabbitohs centre Campbell Graham (calf) and prop Sean Keppie (thumb) have joined a growing casualty ward, which still includes superstar Latrell Mitchell (back) and powerhouse centre Jack Wighton (arm). Second-rower Tallis Duncan slots in at centre, with veteran Euan Aitken starting in the back row. Lachlan Hubner replaces skipper Murray. Halves Jamie Humphreys and Jayden Sullivan are on the bench alongside potential debutants John Radel and Dayne Jennings.
The Broncos have had to dig deeply into their list, with fullback Hayze Perham and centre Antonio Verhoeven joining the back line and Jordan Riki (foot) back in the second row. Jack Gosiewski deputises for Payne Haas. They are a team thay can unearth young talent though.

Rabbitohs v Broncos betting tips
The Broncos could find themselves in the bottom four for the 2026 NRL season with another loss here and that would make it a long haul back into contention even just to make the finals. We are tempted to believe their unknown young guns and a smattering of veterans can lift them out of their funk with a win against the Bunnies, but the manner of their five losses on end against the Roosters, Sea Eagles, Warriors, Dragons and Titans is concerning, especially the last two against struggling opposition. They have conceded 170 points in that handful of losses, while scoring only 89 points.
Souths have their own problems under supercoach Wayne Bennett but playing at home should offer them some sort of edge and they also have their pack pretty much intact aside from Cameron Murray, which should mean they win the battle of the forwards. The Rabbitohs to get home in a dour battle.

Souths by 2 points.

- South Sydney to win / match total under 50.5 at $3.05 with Australian betting sites.
- Alex Johnston (Souths) to score 2 or more tries at $2.70. The league’s greatest try-scorer rarely misses out at this ground.
