Sydney v North Melbourne betting tips and prediction
Welcome to our Sydney v North Melbourne betting tips and winner prediction for their AFL round 24 clash at the SCG on Sunday.
Remarkably the Swans are still favourites despite five of their players being given a season-long club suspension for failing club standards.
Bookmakers have got the Swans (1.87) narrowly ahead of North Melbourne (1.95), even though this clash has little impact on ladder positions with the Sydney team locked into third and the Roos out of finals contention.
The Swans are going to need a miracle to feature deep into September, with the players out including Nick Blakey, James Jordan, Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner and Riley Bice.
This week they have called up James Rowbottom, Angus Sheldrick, Tom Hanily, Harry Cunningham and Caiden Cleary to the team that defeated Essendon in Melbourne last Sunday.
The Roos have lost their star man Harry Sheezel (cheekbone) and Tom Blamires, with Luke McDonald and Josh Goater called up.
The two clubs played earlier this season with the Swans emerging eight-point winners, with Heeney playing a starring role with three majors.

Sydney v North Melbourne betting tips
WGL’s AFL betting expert has assessed the markets and found some value Sydney v North Melbourne betting tips:
Jy Simpkin 25+ possessions
Simpkin is at 1.63 to reach 25+ possessions, which looks value given the absence of Sheezel. Another worth considering at decent odds is Finn O’Sullivan (2.00).
Errol Gulden 35+ possessions
If the Swans are to cause any damage on field this year, they need Gulden to fire. Whether Swans coach Dean Cox plays his trump card in a meaningless rubber 100 per cent in the midfield remains to be seen. If he does over 35 posessions is still paying 2.05 and offers value.
Charlie Curnow 3+ goals
The Roos have struggled to stop the gun key forwards this year, and if Gulden is the Swans hope in the midfield, Curnow is their big hope in the forward line. He’s short at 1.50 for 3+, but we will anchor our multi with this one. Roos ace Nick Larkey returned to form last round and we will be backing him for a repeat in this clash.
Sydney v North Melbourne prediction
The Roos should win this game, but with their season over, it’s hard to get a gauge on where their heads are at. The Swans would be gutted following their decorated teammates (and alleged carpenters) being rubbed out. Will they respond with fire or suffer a downer? We won’t be betting on the outcome of this one, there is just too many variables, but if we are forced to pick, we would take the Roos to cover the line. The vibes just can’t be right at the Swans.
