NRL round 7: Wests Tigers v Broncos betting tips
The betting on the Wests Tigers v Brisbane Broncos NRL clash at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday night tells an incredible tale of mixed fortunes.
We are in just Round 7 of the NRL season and the Tigers, probably the least successful team overall of the past decade, are hot favourites at $1.52 to win against the defending premiers Broncos ($2.55) with Australian betting sites.
Injuries and suspension play a significant role in that, with the Broncos missing a host of star include fullback ace Reece Walsh (broken cheekbone), utility Ben Hunt (knee) and lock Pat Carrigan (suspension). But more important even than that has been the surprising form of the Wests Tigers, who have won four of their five matches with their one loss coming against South Sydney 20-16.
Thursday night: Cowboys v Sea Eagles
This should be a fascinating test for Benji Marshall’s side as to whether they can now cope with the weight of expectation as favourites. In fairness, this is their first test against one of the NRL’s genuine heavyweights, in title betting at least, with their wins coming against the Cowboys, Warriors, Eels and Knights.
Sterner tests lie ahead, though they have caught the Broncos at possibly a low ebb. Wests Tigers have not beaten the Broncos since 2022 and they have lost their past three against them by an average of 26.7 points.
Check out our chart below to show just how bad the Tigers have been until a slight uptick in 2025 and then this roaring start to 2026. The period between 2022 and 2024 was statistically the worst in the club’s history, resulting in three straight last-place finishes. In the 2024 season the club conceded 750 points, the highest in their history for a single season.

Wests Tigers v Broncos team news
The Tigers get a lift with skipper Jarome Luai back from the knee injury that has sidelined him since round three and centre Taylan May back from a shoulder injury. May slots in it centre, powrful Sunia Turuva returns to the wing and Jeral Skelton misses out. Jock Madden makes way for Luai and is named on the interchange.
The Broncos are pretty busted at the moment, but their skipper, Adam Reynolds, has also been named to return from an adductor injury, with Thomas Duffy moving to interchange. They lose Pat Carrigan to suspension, with Xavier Willison into the starting side at lock. Josh Rogers takes over at hooker. The new faces on the six-man bench are Jack Gosiewski and Jaiyden Hunt.

Wests Tigers v Broncos betting tips
The Tigers are around $1.52 with Ladbrokes Australia to get the points against the Broncos, but we are wary that it’s early in the season and the Tigers are yet to be really tested under the blowtorch of searing defence. The Broncos lack razzle dazzle without Walsh but they do have the best prop in the game in Payne Haas belting the opposition for 80 straight minutes.
The home ground edge at this ground should be significant but beware the wounded Broncos. They have already scored one backs-to-the-wall win against Melbourne earlier this year, thought that has been tempered somewhat by Melbourne’s poor form.
We expect the Tigers to win, especially with the elusive Luai back in the No.6, but we are wary of too much trust in a Tigers side that has too often fallen away. For that reason we have avoided the straight-out win market.

Wests Tigers by 2 points.

- Match total under 51.5 points / Jahream Bula anytime try-scorer at $4.10 with Australian betting sites.
