T20 Women’s World Cup 1st semi-final: India v England predictions, best bets

England v South Africa betting tips, T20 Womens WOrld Cup betting predictions

This is the WGL’s India v England betting tips and odds update for the T20 World Cup Women’s semi-final at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday, March 5.
This is the first of two semi-finals played at the SCG. The winners of the two matches will meet in the final at the MCG on Sunday, March 8.
In the event of the semi-finals being washed out, India and South Africa, who play Australia in the second semi, would advance to the final as the top teams from Groups A and B.
While the weather outlook is not great, if this match goes ahead we see it as a great betting opportunity and favour England to advance to the final.
The teams clash twice earlier this year in Australia in a lead-up tournament with one win apiece.
The SCG pitch is often helpful for the spinners, though with the promise of moisture on the pitch, it may make it difficult to extract too much turn.
England ran through Group A undefeated, while England were caught out early by the impressive South Africans, but both teams now seem to be at the top of their games.

India v England betting tips

England to win at $2.10

England have a dominant overall record against India in T20 Internationals with 15 wins from 19 matches, and if you can dismiss their slip-up against South Africa, they have struck top form at the right time. Their best batters are making runs and their bowlers are troubling all opponents. We think England should be hot favourites in this one, so the odds available will do us.

Sophie Ecclestone most wickets for England

The young left-arm spinner has run into great form for England and she and Anya Shrubsole sit among the top three wicket-takers at this tournament, behind only Indian tweaker Poonam Yadav. If Ecclestone and Shrubsole can contain or dismiss rising Indian star Shafali Verma early in the innings, it will go a long way to deciding the match. We like Ecclestone because she should get some assistance from the pitch.

India v England predictions – 5/3/2020

This match between the second and fourth ranked teams by the ICC promises to be a cracker, if we can get a break with the Sydney weather. We can’t wait for it. The bookies favour India but we think England have the greater depth and big-match experience. If it goes ahead we expect them to win a tight clash, with in-form batter Nat Sciver leading the charge. Good punting.
