T20 World Cup Women: West Indies v South Africa predictions, best bets and tips

Stafanie Taylor is one of the best T20 Women's batters

This is the WGL’s West Indies v South Africa and Pakistan v Thailand betting tips and odds update for the T20 World Cup Women’s double-header at Sydney Showground Stadium on Wednesday, March 2.
The first of the final Group B matches is Pakistan v Thailand, a match that will have no impact on the semi-final make-up of tournament. It is a chance for Pakistan to rack up a second win and end the tournament on a high. The Thais have played well at times but are well of the pace set by some of the more experienced nations.
The second-up match features the unbeaten South Africans from whom the equation is simple: win and they will meet Australia in the semi-final; lose and Group A top team India will be their opponents.
The semi-finals are played at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday, and with rain forecast it is important for South Africa to beat the Windies and finish top of Group B. If the semis are washed out, the top-ranked teams from the group stages advance to the final at the MCG.
The West Indies will be without star player Stafanie Taylor, who suffered a groin injury batting in the match against England.

Group B final match-day betting tips

Nida Dar top wicket-taker for Pakistan at $3.75

The veteran off-spinner will want to sign off on the tournament with a big performance with bat and ball and she is a quality player. The Thai batters have struggled and Dar will be tricky to face at this ground.

West Indies highest score after six overs at $2.50

While South Africa are unbeaten and looking good for a tilt at the title, there is no reason the West Indies can’t outscore them in the power play. The Windies have always been blessed with powerful hitters and we will take the value odds to say they will get off to a flyer.

Shabnim Ismail top wicket-taker for South Africa

We have selected this option twice previously for two collects (one was a tie) so there is no reason not to go again on the star pace bowler. Possibly the quickest bowler in the tournament and has had some real success so we will back Ismail at odds of around $3.50.

Pakistan W v Thailand W, West Indies W v South Africa W predictions – 3/3/2020

We don’t expect to many surprises in the final two group matches of the tournament. As the odds suggest, the West Indies have a better chance of upsetting South Africa than Thailand do against Pakistan, but we expect both favourites to win well. West Indies were a little disappointing against England while the South Africans have not put a foot wrong. Good punting.
