Sydney v GWS betting tips and prediction
Welcome to our Sydney v GWS betting tips and winner prediction for their AFL round 6 clash at the SCG on Friday night.
The Swans (1.30) are heavy favourites for the “Battle of the Bridge” against cross-town rival GWS (3.60), who have been hit by fresh injuries to key players.
The ladder leading Swans have won four from five matches despite a serious injury to Errol Gulden ruling him out for much of the year.

The Swans have won successive matches, but it’s hard to read much into their huge win over West Coast, and their victory over Gold Coast in tough conditions last start at Norwood.
They will be boosted by Angus Sheldrick for this clash, with veteran Dane Rampe going out of the lineup.
The Giants have won two from five matches this year, but genuinely have excuses, with a huge injury list getting worse this week, with Aaron Cadman and Stephen Coniglio both entering concussion protocols after knocks against Richmond.
The Giants have also opted to rest small forward Brent Daniels after his outstanding return from a series of soft tissue injuries. They have called up Harry Rowston, Toby McMullin and Leek Aleer.
Sydney v GWS betting tips
WGL’s AFL betting expert has assessed the markets and found some value Swans v Giants tips:
Jesse Hogan 3+ goals
The Giants spearhead looked so much better with Cadman in the team, a luxury he will not get after his fellow key forward went down with concussion. Having said that, the Giants still have Riccardi as his sidekick. Hogan kicked two last start and is moving as well as he has all season. We’ll confidently take him for 3+ here at 2.60 with Neds betting.
Charlie Curnow 3+ goals
Curnow has been solid without being spectacular to start his career in Sydney, but a Giants team without Sam Taylor is one to be taken advantage of. Curnow will explode at some point and it woudln’t surprise if it is ths week. He is paying 2.15 for 3+ or 3.90 for 4+ goals.
Finn Callaghan 30+ possessions
We hit wth the talented Giants midfielder reaching 30 last game, and we’re willing to run with him again here, and he’s still offering nice value at 2.50 for 30+ with Australian betting sites.
Isaac Heeney 2+ goals
Heeney was clearly best on ground against the Gold Coast last weekend, and he looms as the danger man against GWS. We’re likely to take him for 2+ goals and 25 possessions.
Sydney v GWS prediction
The Swans look to be a bit more settled than their cross town rival, although we’re not as bullish on them being a premership contender as other pundits. The Giants huge injury list has just gotten worse with the concussion dramas and we think a win here might be a bridge too far. Take the Swans with confidence. Our final Sydney v GWS prediction? Swans by 21 points.
