FanDuel strike deal to be official betting partner of F1 in USA and Canada

Formula 1 has signed a landmark agreement with FanDuel, naming the operator as an Official Betting Operator in the United States and Canada, in a move that further integrates wagering into the sport’s rapidly growing North American footprint.

The deal marks the first time Formula 1 has partnered with a betting operator in the US, with FanDuel odds set to be embedded across F1’s digital platforms, including its official website and app. The integration will see real-time betting data, markets and insights incorporated into race coverage, giving fans additional context throughout each race weekend.

“Being named an Official Betting Operator of Formula 1 marks an exciting step forward as we enhance our sportsbook product to deliver more interactive experiences for fans,” Managing Director of FanDuel Sportsbook Karol Corcoran said.

“Formula 1 generates an incredible amount of real-time data, and our platform is built to turn that into engaging betting opportunities for fans. This partnership will allow us to deliver even more immersive, data-driven experiences throughout the race weekend.”

The partnership comes as Formula 1 continues its strong expansion in the region, highlighted by three US races on the calendar — Miami, Austin and Las Vegas — with the next event set for the Miami Grand Prix in early May, followed by a packed European schedule through the middle of the year.

FanDuel will offer a range of betting markets into the USA and Canada, including race winners, podium finishes and head-to-head driver matchups, with further betting products expected to be rolled out later in the season.

Formula 1 Director of Commercial Partnerships Jonny Haworth said the deal showed their product had strong traction in North America, and this was another way to engage with fans.

“We’re delighted to welcome FanDuel as our new Official Betting Operator in the United States and Canada – markets that continue to increase their love and engagement with Formula 1,” he said.

“As sports betting becomes an increasing component with how fans, especially in the US, interact with sport, it’s vital we have a strong and well-placed partner to deliver our strategy and fuel our momentum across the market.

“With tens of millions of fans across the country, FanDuel is yet another avenue that eligible fans can enjoy and experience the thrill of Formula 1.”

The agreement also includes collaboration on responsible gambling initiatives, as both parties look to align with evolving regulatory expectations.

The move underscores the growing role of sports betting in fan engagement, particularly in the US, where Formula 1 has seen a surge in popularity in recent years.

FanDuel is active across much of the USA, while they have launched successfully in Ontario in Canada, which so far, is the only province to regulate sports betting.
