French Open Men’s singles preview & free tips
Welcome to our free French Open betting tips for the 2026 Men’s crown kicking off on May 24 at Paris’s famous Roland Garros.
The clay-court Grand Slam arrives with one overwhelming storyline already dominating the men’s draw, as Jannik Sinner enters the tournament as the clear man to beat after one of the most dominant starts to a season seen in modern tennis.
MORE: French Open Betting Bible 2026
International betting sites have Sinner installed as a commanding 1.40 favourite to win the 2026 French Open, a price that reflects not only his remarkable consistency on clay this year, but also the absence of the one player capable of matching him at his absolute peak.
Carlos Alcaraz, the two-time defending Roland Garros champion, was forced to withdraw from the tournament in late April due to a right wrist injury, removing the man who defeated Sinner in last year’s unforgettable five-hour 29-minute final in Paris. With Alcaraz sidelined until at least June, the complexion of the men’s French Open crown has shifted dramatically.
Sinner arrives in Paris after making history at the Italian Open in Rome on Sunday, where the 24-year-old completed the full set of all nine ATP Masters 1000 titles. The achievement places him alongside only Novak Djokovic in accomplishing the feat, although Sinner reached the milestone aged seven years younger than the Serbian great.
His triumph in Rome also ended a 50-year wait for an Italian men’s singles champion at the event, further cementing his status as the dominant force in world tennis heading into Roland Garros.

Can anyone beat Jannik Sinner?
Sinner must be licking his lips with his chief rival Carlos Alcaraz sidelined, but he knows nothing comes easy on the clay courts in Paris.
The man we had earmarked to cause an upset was Lorenzo Musetti, but the world no.11 has also been forced out of the French Open with a thigh injury.
This leaves the usual suspects Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic and while both have strong records on clay, Sinner has had their measure in recent match-ups.
If we had to pluck one guy to cause a major upset and knock off Sinner it would be young French star Arthur Fils, who is gunning to become the first Frenchman to win at Roland Garros since Yannick Noah in 1983.
French Open Men’s singles best bets
Our tennis betting expert has assessed the markets and found his best bets:
Alex De Minaur to reach the quarter-finals
The Australian no.1 is super-consistent but is found wanting against Sinner and Alcaraz. His game has continued to improve on clay and a quarter-final is well within his reach, while a semi-final or even final appearance would not shock (especially if he is on the opposite side to Sinner). These markets will open closer to the tournament, but he should be at decent odds, given he is priced at 100-1 to win the French Open with Aussie betting sites.
Arthur Fils to reach the semi-finals
He’s athletic and has a big game and seems to have a renewed determination to succeed since adding Goran Ivanisevic as his coach. Has often been touted as the man to break the dominance of Sinner and Alcaraz, and this looms as his best shot yet. His clay form is impeccable with a win at the Barcelona Open and a semi appearance at the Madrid Open. Look at the fixture and if he’s on the opposite side to Sinner, jump on him to reach the semi-finals at good odds.
French Open men’s singles prediction
Realistically the French Open is Jannik Sinner’s to lose and if he can get through the fortnight injury-free, he is as close to certain as you can get at a tennis grand slam. He’s also exceptionally short in the betting at 1.40 to win the men’s crown, which just has too much risk without much benefit. We’re going to stick to markets other than the winner here. We genuinely believe one of the only players to have the weapons to challenge Sinner is Fils, but whether he can hold it together for a fortnight remains to be seen.
