World Cup Group C betting preview & free tips
Brazil are clear favourites to win Group C at the FIFA World Cup, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side priced at 1.17 to finish top of a section also featuring Morocco, Scotland and Haiti.
The five-time world champions are expected to qualify for the Round of 32 with international betting sites, but this group has more depth than the outright odds suggest. Morocco reached the semi-finals at the last World Cup, Scotland are back on the biggest stage for the first time since 1998 and Haiti return for only their second appearance.

Morocco are the second favourites to top Group C at 6.50 and look the most likely side to follow Brazil into the knockout stage. The Atlas Lions are strong defensively, dangerous on the counter and have recent tournament evidence that makes them a serious threat.
Scotland, priced at 11.00 to win the group, will see their opening match against Haiti as a must-win assignment. Steve Clarke’s side have enough quality to challenge Morocco for second, but their clash with the Atlas Lions could define their tournament.
Haiti are outsiders at 101.00 to win Group C, but they bring a brilliant story to the tournament. Les Grenadiers are back at the World Cup for the first time since 1974 and will be aiming to make life difficult for the three more fancied teams.

Brazil are the class side in Group C and will carry the usual weight of expectation into another World Cup. The Seleção have not reached a final since winning the 2002 tournament, but Carlo Ancelotti has been appointed to end that drought. With Vinicius Jr, Raphinha, Neymar and Matheus Cunha in the attacking mix, Brazil have more than enough firepower to control this group. The key question is whether the modern Brazil can finally turn talent into tournament dominance again. Brazil is heavily favoured to sweep Group C and this pundit has little reason to doubt them, given the class they have on all lines. The big query is whether they can get their superstar line-up on the same page for the duration of the tournament, if so the 9.00 odds with Betway on a sixth World Cup win look very generous.

Morocco are the obvious danger to Brazil and should be respected after their historic semi-final run in 2022. The Atlas Lions are built for tournament football, with a compact defensive shape, pace on the break and the ability to frustrate more glamorous opponents. Brahim Diaz looms as the attacking spark, while Achraf Hakimi remains one of the best full-backs in the tournament. If Morocco beat Scotland, second place should be theirs. The African Cup of Nations champion has the experience and talent to make another deep push into the World Cup, but they will need to navigate this tricky group that contains Brazil, and overcome life without Youssef En-Nesyri, who is expected to be left out of the final squad, despite playing a key role in their 2022 run.

Scotland return to the World Cup for the first time since France 98 and will arrive with a more balanced squad than many of their previous tournament teams. Steve Clarke can call on the experience of Andy Robertson, John McGinn, Kieran Tierney and Scott McTominay, while the Tartan Army will turn every fixture into an occasion. Scotland has included Ross Stewart in the squad with the Southampton forward having been in international wilderness for going on four years. They have also included young gun Finlay Curtis, who will undoubtedly look to team leaders Andy and John for guidance. The opener against Haiti is everything. Win that and Scotland can attack the Morocco match with real belief.

Haiti are the great underdog story in Group C. Les Grenadiers are back at the World Cup for the first time since 1974 and arrive with attacking players capable of giving better teams uncomfortable moments. Duckens Nazon, Wilson Isidor, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Frantzdy Pierrot give Haiti some genuine threat, but this is a brutal draw. Brazil, Morocco and Scotland all have more depth, more tournament experience and more top-level quality. Haiti will be heavily reliant on their EPL players — Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor and Wolverhampton’s Jean-Ricner Bellegarde. But they do have extensive international experience with Placide and Nazon both having upwards of 80 caps.

This is the marquee fixture in Group C and could decide the top two order immediately. Brazil are the better side on paper, but Morocco will not be easy to break down. The Atlas Lions have the defensive organisation and counter-attacking threat to keep this close, even if Brazil’s individual class should eventually tell. The two teams have clashed three times in their history, with Brazil winning two and Morocco one. Interestingly, Morocco won their last match, a friendly fixture in 2023.

This is the match Scotland simply have to win. Haiti will defend with pride and have enough pace to cause problems, but Scotland’s midfield power and European experience should give them control. Anything less than victory would leave the Tartan Army under heavy pressure before games against Morocco and Brazil. The two teams have never played an international fixture before. Expect Sauchiehall Street to be rocking when this match is happening, because the Tartan Army are a live chance to progress to the knockout stage.

This could be the defining match in the group. Scotland will want to make it physical and turn set pieces into a weapon, while Morocco will be happy to absorb pressure and strike quickly through their wide players. Morocco’s tournament experience gives them the slight edge, but Scotland are good enough to make this uncomfortable.

Brazil should win this match comfortably if they are switched on. Haiti’s best chance is to sit deep, slow the game and hope to frustrate the favourites, but Brazil’s attacking depth should create too many chances. This is the fixture where the Seleção can rotate, find rhythm and build momentum.

(Scotland need a miracle having never beaten Brazil)
Scotland have World Cup history with Brazil, including meetings in 1974, 1982, 1990 and 1998. This time, the stakes could be just as high if Scotland need a result to reach the knockout stage. Brazil’s depth makes them hard to oppose, even if Ancelotti rotates his side before the Round of 32. Scotland has never beaten the South American team in 10 chances, with their best result being two draws.
🇲🇦 Morocco v 🇭🇹 Haiti

Morocco should have too much structure, experience and quality if they need a result on the final match day. Haiti may already be eliminated by this stage, but they will still be dangerous in transition. The Atlas Lions should be professional enough to get the job done and confirm their place in the knockouts.

Brazil deserve clear favouritism in Group C and look the safest team to progress. Their squad has enough elite attacking quality to win the group even if they are still searching for the fluency associated with their best World Cup teams.
The bigger betting question is whether Morocco can hold off Scotland for second. Morocco have the stronger recent World Cup record and a style that suits tournament football, while Scotland’s hopes may depend on beating Haiti and then avoiding defeat against the Atlas Lions. Haiti look the most likely side to finish bottom, but they have enough attacking threat to make at least one match uncomfortable.
The most logical Group C order is Brazil first, Morocco second, Scotland third and Haiti fourth. Scotland could still have a path as one of the best third-placed teams, but Morocco look better placed to finish inside the top two.
