Collingwood v Melbourne betting tips and prediction
Welcome to our Collingwood v Melbourne betting tips and winner prediction for their AFL round 13 clash at the MCG on Monday.
The Magpies (1.81) are favourites to defeat Melbourne (2.03) despite the Demons holding a superior ladder position, on what promises to be an emotional afternoon, with the traditional “Big Freeze” MND fundraiser taking on extra weight following the passing of Neale Daniher.
Collingwood has lost three out of their last four, but have been in the games, barring the Cats debacle when they were hammered by a hungrier and in-form team.

The Magpies have regained important utility Harry Perryman following a hamstring injury, while mid-season draft pick Mitch Podhajski and Sam Swadling look destined to debut in front of what looms as a massive crowd. Magpies midfielder Ned Long is a confirmed out after starring in the VFL team on Saturday.
Melbourne could also include a mid-season draft pick after Joel Fitzgerald had 39 possessions for Casey on debut, while experienced defender Jake Lever is likely to return from concussion. Latrelle Pickett and Changkuoth Jiath will have to pass a fitness test if they want to play.
The Demons have dropped their last two games to GWS and the Western Bulldogs, but fans would be delighted with their new-found attacking style under first-year coach Steven King, although they look someway off being a premiership contender.
Former Magpie Brodie Mihecek will play against his former club for the first time, following the Demons decision to poach him on a longer contract than the veteran could secure in the black and white.
Collingwood v Melbourne betting tips
Our AFL betting expert has cast his eye over the markets and found some value Collingwood v Melbourne betting tips:
Mitch Podhajski 2+ goals
The former Coburg forward is the leading goal-kicker in the VFL this year and at 27 is expected to contribute early in his Magpies’ career. A few goals on debut is well within his grasp and while he is not yet in the market, he should be paying around 3.00.
Jordan De Goey 25+ possessions
De Goey is in a sweet patch of form and has seemingly overcome his injury woes. He’s reached 30, 29 and 25 possessions in the last three weeks and still offering value at 1.90 to reach 25+ this week.
Kysaiah Pickett 20 possessions + 2 goals
Pickett has had the blowtorch put on him for a perceived lack of defensive pressure in recent weeks. Expect him to thrive on on the big stage on Monday. We’re gonna have a Kozzie special and include him for 2+ goals and 20 possessions in a same game multi, with this priced at around 3.60 with Neds (Neds review). Thank us later.
Collingwood v Melbourne prediction
We’re looking forward to this clash, which will pit the free flowing Dees, against the dogged Magpies. The Magpies look to have their opponent covered in the midfield with Jordan De Goey and Brownlow Medal fancy Nick Daicos the key men. But the Demons have the firepower, including Pickett and Jacob Van Rooyen to kick a winning score. Ultimately this game is going to be close, but we think the Pies might just shade the Dees for experience. Our final Collingwood v Melbourne prediction? Magpies by 11 points.
