Hacksaw Gaming strikes deal with growing slots developer Zerplaay
Hacksaw Gaming has added Zerplaay Games to its growing OpenRGS platform, a deal that will see the independent studio’s upcoming slot titles distributed to operators across multiple regulated online gambling markets.
For players, the partnership means Zerplaay’s future games are likely to become available at a much wider range of online casinos, with Hacksaw using its OpenRGS technology and global distribution network to bring the studio’s releases to licensed operators around the world.
Rather than developing games itself for the platform, Zerplaay will use OpenRGS to build, certify and launch new titles, while Hacksaw handles distribution across its operator network. The arrangement also gives the studio access to Hacksaw’s technology and regulatory infrastructure, allowing it to enter new markets without securing individual integrations with each casino.
Zerplaay said the partnership would help it deliver its casino games to a global audience while maintaining its focus on cinematic game design.
“Our studio is built around one simple belief: exceptional games are created when world-class game development meets cinematic storytelling,” Zerplaay Games co-founder and CEO Peter Van Treuren said.
“That’s why we’ve brought together industry veterans from online gaming alongside professionals from the film industry, creating a team with a unique perspective on entertainment.
“Partnering with Hacksaw Gaming gives us the perfect platform to turn that vision into reality, delivering distinctive, high-quality titles to players across the globe. We couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead.”
The agreement marks another expansion of Hacksaw’s OpenRGS ecosystem, which enables independent studios to publish games using the company’s infrastructure while giving gambling sites access to a broader catalogue of content through a single integration.
Hacksaw Operational CEO Marcus Cordes said Zerplaay’s creative approach stood out from other iGaming studios joining the platform.
“One of the greatest strengths of OpenRGS is the variety of creative talent it continues to attract, and Zerplaay Games is another fantastic addition to the ecosystem,” Cordes said.
“Their approach to combining game development with cinematic storytelling immediately caught our attention, and we’re looking forward to working together as they bring that vision to operators around the world.”
The partnership continues Hacksaw Gaming’s strategy of expanding OpenRGS into a distribution hub for third-party content, giving smaller studios access to regulated markets while providing online casino operators with a growing pipeline of new games through a single platform.
